Default Anderson Silva Signs to Fight Roy Jones Jr (Boxing)

It has long been rumored that Anderson Silva wants to box Roy Jones Jr. Silva has revealed to Fighters Only Magazine that when his UFC contract is up (he has four fights remaining), he will go on to box Jones Jr. In fact, they have even signed contracts. Here is what Silva had to say…

"It is undoubted that I will face Roy Jones. We have talked too much, have signed some contracts and we want to make it the sooner the better. It's not for money or spotlight, it's for my desire. I watch Roy Jones since he competed as an amateur and in the Olympic Games. I'm looking forward to this fight to put in the ring everything I know, to show my students in the future that I understand what I may say over this or that and don't seem a pirate parrot."

Why, Roy? The guy should've hung 'em up a long time ago. Perfect example of someone who could've gone out on top and has just repeatedly tarnished his legacy.

Roy was easily my favourite boxer of all time, and has now become a joke. Damn.

He's definitely up there for me. I probably go Lennox, then Roy, but it's close. Roy should followed Lewis' example. Leave the fans clamouring for one more instead of begging you to stop.

I wouldn't mind seeing a boxer wipe the floor with a "striker".

Me neither; but Jones is so over the hill that I could actually see Silva winning this.

It would be nice to see this fight with Jones in his prime to just watch him dismantle Silva.

Even with Jones not even close to his prime I don't see Silva being able to stay with him in a ring. Jones will dominate him 'nuff said!

This is a lose lose for Jones. If he wins it's not a big deal, he's not fighting a boxer. If he loses he's done, he can't even beat part time boxers. Where's the upside?
