Yeah, I figured. But I didn't want people passing over the post based on the amount of text there.

Globefish for sure (if you dont mind spending a little more).
There is also one on centre street and and 17th (right beside the video and sound). That has some pretty good sushi as well.
Haha, didnt see regulator's post. It is called Wa's. Shikiji is not bad for sushi, but I do like their ramen!

Wa's is my regular spot, it's always fresh and the prices are fair.

Thanks for this info, I've been there a couple times. I was asked to leave once with a buddy because apparently they have a time limit.
What do all the No/Yes before the violations mean?

Please don't go to BBQ inn. It seems like a deal since it is all you can eat, but I find I spend about the same at regular places, don't feel like I am going to explode upon leaving and am generally happier with the overall experience.
The people who mentioned Wa's are right on. It is a fantastic little place for sushi. I also enjoy Misato, though I have not been there nearly as much...I tend to stick to Wa's a lot of the time.

Ah the sushi thread. Mmmmmmmm.
Wa's is just up center street, around 17-18 ave N. It is right across the street from Beckham's pub (the old regal beagle). You can google it easily to find the exact location.
I've been to Misato a few times more recently and recommend it as top notch as well, though it is more SW (off Sarcee).

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM sushi....i LOVE sushi....
Definitely agree on globefish. both the kensington one and the marda loop one are awesome.
Also agree on shikiji on centre and 16th ave. As well on centre st and about 10th ave or so, theres a little place called Maruju. they're pretty good as well, and MOST DEFINITELY agree on bbq inn. BOOOOOURNS on that place. just brutal.
A few other places..not really near SAIT...Sushi Towa downtown is awesome and also i really like Sushi Ichiban on Mcleod Tr and 42nd. and also Kinjo is good as someone previously said.

Going to try to give El's Japanese Fusion a try tonight.
I'm going to assume it's more like globefish then wa's?

El's Japanese Fusion's menu is mostly focused on maki (rolls)
Wa's is centered on more traditional sushi, nigiri, sashimi, chirashi bowls, etc.,
Globefish is an Izakaya, and their menu is centered on Japanese tapas-style dishes, with a few cool rolls thrown in.

Lots of sushi in Kensington now.
I'll see if I can compile a list - a new one just opened on 14th and 5th.
Sushi Club - 103, 1240 Kensington Rd NW
Sushi Zeal - 101 227 10 St NW
Globefish Sushi - 326 14 St NW
Tenshi Sushi - 304 10 St. NW (no liquor licence IIRC)

Globefish is the best in town.
Korean BBQ across the street from SAIT used to be good a few years ago but they quality went down.

Globefish is definitely up there. I don't know if I can call it the best sushi in town, because it's not really even traditional sushi. It's a lounge-style Japanese Izakaya. And yes, it's the best Izakaya in town.
Korean BBQ place across from SAIT is the worst I've ever had. I've given it a bunch of chances (I used to go to SAIT), but it's disgusting.
