I lived in Fairview for a few years with my bro, it seemed like a decent neighbourhood. It's about a $20 cab ride from DT if memory serves me correctly, and we never had any problems with crime or anything like that.

I lived in Maple Ridge, Lake Bonavista, and now Braeside. They are all close to this neighborhood. LB is higher end, but I would love to live in Acadia myself. Great for raising a family IMO.

I grew up in Fairview (directly North of Acadia) in the 70s and 80s. Was a pretty quiet neighbourhood back then. I haven't lived in that area since 1990, so I couldn't tell you what it's like now except that I've driven through it a few times and nothing much has changed visually, so I would imagine it's still a pretty decent place to raise a family.

The impression I get is that it's a bit of an older community (demographic wise), so while a nice quiet neighborhood to raise kids, not so many other kids to play with...

Chinook Park is across 14th and North of Heritage. Haysboro is south of Heritage.

Acadia is a great place to raise your kids..
There is a High School (Beaverbrook) Junior High (David Thompson) and Elementary school (acadia) within walking distance.
Close proximity to the LRT as well as deerfoot. Houses in this area are starting to need some work but for the most part you could pick up a nice gem for under $400K.
Acadia is a great place to live.

Great area, quiet, near the lake and by almost all major roads in the south. Depends on where you live in Acadia, it's closeish to the train station. Bonavista is closer but more expensive and higher end.
