Yes that is exactly what i mean and stand for. Kind of an American attitude but i dont care. If someone comes into my house i will do whatever it takes to protect my family. I dont care what race or what intentions he or she has. If it means spending the rest of my life in prison i will gladly serve the time.

I then hear the distinct crunching sound of gravel from beside the house. At first I think it is probably an animal but to be sure I go into the garage and grab a flashlight as I can't see !@#$ in the dark. By the time I get back to the side of the house - there is nothing. As I look up and down the street in the front - nothing. As I walk the perimeter of the yard though I see the back gate is open (it is never open) and I get a cold chill.

Maybe it's because we have a little baby in the house but I am still wired over this 2 and 1/2 hours later. For all I know it could have been a kid cutting through to the street from the greenspace behind our home. It does seem odd though that my wife heard a distinct bang on the window/wall that can only be accessed from the deck.

Bah, if it happens again I'm just charging into the dark swinging a nine iron.
we live in the same neighborhood, give me a call next time, cause it could be the puke that keyed the crap out of my truck! i'll bring the whole bag of clubs

I hope you have a big sign on your door "HAVE GUN AND WILL USE IT!!!"

I'd hate to see some stupid and immature 15 year old die because you were afraid.

They took off running and dropped the seat cushion. Enjoy the chair, boys. It doesn't even have a seat!
Is your house located in 1955?

I am afraid for my family. I have never been afraid for myself. and what makes you think a "stupid and immature" 15 year old couldnt cause harm or damage to someone?

FYI- being stabbed or shot by a 15 year old or a 30 year old feels the same.

young or old, white black or otherwise, if you're creeping around my place in the middle of the night, you'ro gonna get what you deserve. If you were creeping around their house doing the same thing, do you think they would hesitate?
family is everything, if you want to mess with mine, you are going to get what's coming

I have guns in my house (I hunt) but I would never dream of using it on a burgler. There are other ways to protect yourself and your property.
You should start thinking about it.. I hear the bad guys have figured out how to use them now.

I may be wrong, I don't have the facts to prove it, but I suspect that most if not all b & e's are committed by unarmed petty criminals.

Shooting them is overkill.... so to speak.

No... but if someone makes a statement that I disagree with, I'll post my opinion.

Thats what message boards are all about... give and take... the exchange of ideas.

Rerun, I don't know what kind of force you'd use instead, but 15 years old or not, when a burglar is confronted during a break in, one of two things happens. He either runs like hell or else attacks. If I had a gun and my house got broken in to, I'd be pulling it out. If the guy moved toward me instead of toward the window, I'd start blasting. And I really doubt I'd shed any tears over it.

Proof! This claim that all B&E's are commited by unarmed crimals is just like saying that all crimes are done by minorities. Here you get to call him out for what he sees on his own property with his on eyes, yet you can toss out claims like this?

Here in Lloydminster, I know a girl who was sleeping soundly in her apartment with her boyfriend when someone broke in, beeat the crap out of them, tied them up, and start trying to cut the BF's fingers off.

Turns out these Drug dealer henchmen had the wrong apartment.

I say get a pellet gun rifle if you don't have a gun license, something that looks authentic, pull a Gran Torino and scare the crap out of those wanks.

Problem is that is considered 2nd degree murder... if a person knows someone is trying to break in call the police.... if they know someone is in their home call the police.

I've got a beagle. Cutest damn thing on four legs, but noisy as hell. I'm sure that she's prevented a few B&Es in my neighborhood.

Second degree murder is killing with intent to kill, but without pre-planning it. Shooting an intruder that has broken into your house and then attempts to attack you is manslaughter at best. And you know the old saying, you can't spell manslaughter without laughter.

*5 years later:

"Hey, that place looks nice... Let's check it out"
"Are you crazy? That's old man 4x4's place!"
"Uh, yeah. Whaddya say we just boogey on back to Edmonton and go do some B&Es there...!"

you need 2 guns. one to kill him with, and one to put in his dead hand.
