Another interesting note is that Yoko Ono is the one who convinced Jackson to buy his stake in the catalogue, after Paul tried to convince her to team up with him to purchase it.
|
Just going off memory from an interview I heard, I think it was a case of McCartney wanting to do the right thing in his mind when he heard the catalogue was available. He contacted Yoko right off the bat so he could own it in part with Yoko and John's kids. Yoko stalled and was uncooperative, Jackson swooped in and beat McCartney to the punch.
Anyways, Jackson was one of the most bizarre people on the face of the planet. Even though I knew how grotesque his appearance became I was always startled whenever I saw a photo of the guy. Absolutely insane what he did to himself. People call Marilyn Manson a freak, nope, that image is contrived and crafted.

Or if you sleep and watch porn with little boys, while fondling youself and them.

I could doubt it if there was one kid and his parents making accusations.
But he has been on trial twice, and with multiple witnesses making these claims.

Aside from trying to figure out his guilt when it comes to child molestation:
I think Michael Jackson is a perfect example of how screwed up our society is when it comes to celebrity worship. We create the monster that we try to slay. We can't get enough of gossip and superficial news, we raise someone up and then we tear them to shreds at their first sign of vulnerability. Its a strange phenomenon, and I don't think anything points out how pathetically self-concious and hypocritical we are as people (as a whole), as how we relate to our celebrities.

Agreed! He's guilty as sin in my books.

I personally know people who are not child abusers, and not one of them would pay 5 bucks to someone claiming they were abused by them if they didn't do it, let alone 20 million.
There are 4 seperate kids who we know about. Any one of them leaves lots of room for doubt. Together that doubt goes into the .01-.1% category.

It's not grief for Michael himself you heartless old boob.
Michael's music had a huge impact on millions of people; it doesn't matter what he was like as a person, this is about the passing of one of the great artists of the 20th century and the how that makes us look at our own lives, mortality and what we've contributed to the world.

In this world that we live in, people have killed others for a lot less.
Not all parents are as principled as you are. ... and we don't usually have to look very far to find some. There are a lot of people out there who shouldn't be parents.
I think you would be surprised at how many parents would look the other way for $20,000,000.00

As a parent, I find the notion that any parent would let their child spend the night with Michael Jackson to be beyond naive. Maybe the type of parent that would do that, would take the 20 million.
As Devil's advocate, what is harder on the child, putting them through a trial that (as evidenced later) they probably aren't going to win against a guy who can buy all the best lawyers in the world, or taking some satisfaction in the fact that they cost him a lot of money, and the child will have everything he needs for life?
There is a reason why lots of these cases don't get prosecuted, they are hard to win, and hard on the child.

Gee, what a swell guy. He and Phil Spector too!
Who knew selling musical recordings was such a noble calling?

Asked on "60 Minutes" if he thought it was okay to share his bed with a child, Jackson replied, "Why not?"

Jackson's collection of gay pornography was introduced as evidence. One book, prosecutors said, "shows everything one man could possibly do to another man."

Jackson was accused of molesting a 13-year-old cancer survivor - allegations that put him back in the headlines long after his musical career slowed to a crawl.
During the three-month trial, the teen recounted Jackson giving him wine - the singer called it "Jesus juice" - before fondling him as they lay on a bed inside Neverland.
Jackson reportedly encouraged the boy to masturbate before groping the teen.

I wonder who gets custody of Jackson's two children?
I hope its not Debbie Rowe, their mother, since IMO she basically sold her kids to Jackson.

The custody arrangements for Michael Jacksons three children following his death are unclear, but a Jackson family lawyer has suggested the late singer's mother could look after her grandchildren.
