"If you can't handle MiG's, don't fly in MiG Alley." - Dan Ackroyd, reacting to questions about substance abuse at Jim Belushi's funeral.

This is no different than Jim Rome deliberately egging on, I think, quarterback Jim Kelley to get a reaction, and Kelly going over a table and pounding the crap out of Rome. Rome later admitted, with the gift of age and maturity, that he had his whupassing coming to him.

Hilton's big mistake was running off at the mouth and then putting himself in a position where there weren't enough witnesses. Now he looks like a cry baby.

Red Mile DJ, why would you "thank" CaptainCrunch for calling you a moron with an inferiority complex?

I didn't think his comments were directed at me, so I didn't take offense to it.

I do however think that Captain had a lot of good points.

It was Los Angelas Rams Quarterback Jim Everett. Jim Rome kept calling him Chris Everett, implying that Jim Everett was the female tennis star of the same name.

The guy I think you mean is Jim Everett. Rome kept calling him Chris Everett and eventually got what was coming his way.

Bah, beaten by 4 minutes and a video no less.

I will never understand why people care so much about celebrities' lives and the trashy people who make a living prying and gossiping about others to the extent that they become celebrities in their own right deserve beat downs on a regular basis if you ask me.

Another thing I don't understand: the American philosophy is very much one of individual freedoms and privacy against intrusions by the state, but why does no one care about privacy against intrusions by other private citizens (and corporations for that matter)?

People that follow this loser and visit his website are pretty low on the intelligence scale, IMO.

"Celebrity news" is laughable. Celebrity obsession is more accurate and I think it's pretty pathetic that the personal lives of random celebrities is the outlet for this scumbags self-conscious shortcomings. The fact that people actually follow (see: support, enjoy, promote) this asshat puts them in the same boat.

The "guy" makes a living on trying to tear down and poking fun at those that are more successful, more famous, more wealthy and contribute more to society than he ever could and yet the OP turns to him for "celebrity news." Jesus. Same goes for TMZ.

/end rant

Both sides could have colluded on the whole thing for publicity.

Opie & Anthony did a little critique of his video posting on yesterday's show and it was one of the funniest thigns I have ever heard. They're not fans of the fellow and tore into him.

I guess he thought no one would take him down a notch or give him a punch because he's a gay guy. Oh well.

If you read my first post you would see that I go to several different sites for my "celebrity news."

I usually start with Canoe.ca then go to Entertainment Tonight, TMZ and then Perez. It's nice to get a different opinion (and different view) on certain stories. I follow mainly the music news, as it pertains to my career and what I do. And now, more than ever, a lot of the music artists are also making the jump to film and vise versa.

The only thing more annoying than the people who are die hard about this celebrity buzz stuff, are the people who try to glorify themselves by claiming they don't give a crap.

Everyone cares to a certain extent, celebrities are the North American version of Royalty and everyone would react in some way if an A lister like Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp came walking by them on the street.

I think the old saying of negative attention is better than no attention can be applied to the "Perez Hilton" alter ego perfectly.

It honestly baffles me how people find other people's lives so interesting. Just the fact that there are so many gossip magazines and shows and websites makes me shake my head. From what I've gathered, Perez Hilton is some over the top flamer that came out of nowhere and decided to start following celebrities around like a paparazzi, but marketed his own image along with it. To tell you the truth, I find it extremely clever what he's done to make himself money, but that doesn't mean I like it.

I think it's truly pathetic that Perez Hilton is relevant. What a terrible reflection of our society.

I still don't understand.

*Random celebrity* has put on some weight and looks lousy in a bikini according to TMZ, but I'd like a 2nd or 3rd perspective...

Bennifer broke up, why won't ET twitter what they think!?

Perez was asking for help on his twitter because he called police and, shockingly, a freaking out gay man with a bump on the head and in no immediate danger doesn't register very high on their 'Saturday night in toronto' emergency meter. He asked his fans for help and got them to bug the police, thus preventing the Toronto police to deal with more urgent matters so that they could come by, pat Perez on the back and say 'there, there.'

Johnny Depp sat next to me at a bar in San Francisco a couple years ago. I definitely won't try to glorify myself by saying that I didn't care or pretended not to know who he was.

I think the line for me between acceptable and idiotic behavior is clear - if the celebrity does an interview or appears in a magazine or on TV willingly and talks about his/her experiences or thoughts or what he/she likes to wear, that's fine. If people find what Brad Pitt thinks about his new movie or marriage or whatever, interesting, fine. Even getting excited about seeing someone famous by chance on the streets is, IMO, normal.

It's when people cross over and enjoy reading about celebrities at their worst, private stories or pictures taken by blood hounds who follow celebrities around to catch them at their absolute lowest point. TMZ and Perez Hilton are only for those that feel so inept about themselves that they need to see famous people fail in order to feel good about themselves.

IMO, if you visit TMZ or Perez Hilton for celebrity news, at all, you have some serious issues. The hate and gossip these ######s spew is sickening. But of course, the first amendment and the fool proof "they had the choice to become a celebrity and knew what went along with it" are always safe bets when these scumbags and their fans defend themselves.

It's hard to say anyone get what they deserved unless they threw the first punch and got a beat down.

However I liken it to taking a stroll alone through a dark park at night and getting mugged. No I didn't deserve it but man was I ever stupid to be in the park at that time.

Did he "deserve" it? No likely not given what seems to have happened.

Am I surprised? Absolutely not. He talks so much crap on his site and recently he's become this celebrity himself and talks that crap without the safety of being behind a monitor somewhere. It was indeed bound to happen.
