Jacque Martin To Lead The Flyers
Newly Acquired Star Goalie Roberto Luongo, Head Coach Jacque Martin and Team President Eric Lindros
Philadelphia - Out with the young core and young coach and in with the experience. The Flyers GM had made it clear the playoffs are a must next year and hes doing everything he can to bring in the players he feels will get them there. To lead them the Flyers have hired a experienced coach Jacque Martin. Martin will replace Todd Mcllelan whose contract was not renewed.
"The team is very talented, from forwards to defenseman and the beside me sits the best goalie in the league in Luongo, with a core like this, if we fail it will be very disappointing but we're confident were heading in a right direction." Said Martin
Mcllelan a bright young coach was the interim coach last year after he took over half through the season from Ted Nolan. Todd Mcllelan has been asked to come back as in assistant, he hasn't made up his mind yet.
"Jacque is a veteran coach who knows how to get his troops going and thats what we're looking from him." Said Team President Lindros
Asked where GM Schum was, we were told he's busy with his usual trade antics trying to bring in a top four defenseman.
"I'm very excited, let the season start already." Said Luongo who couldn't wait to forget the nightmarish teams he played for last year.
