Advocate says she spoke to Dhalla about caregiver's passport

A woman who works to protect the rights of caregivers testified before a parliamentary committee on Thursday that she spoke directly with Liberal MP Ruby Dhalla about her possession of a passport belonging to a caregiver living in her home.

Mason characterized the phone call as unpleasant, saying Dhalla argued with her and asked whether Mason knew who she was talking to. Mason said she didn't know when she made the phone call that Dhalla was a politician.

One of the caregivers accusing Ruby Dhalla of mistreatment has made similar allegations in the past against her original Canadian employer, the Liberal MP's lawyer said Thursday, adding it suggests a pattern.

"I hope that my client's name is not being used for the purpose of circumventing the process and providing permanent residency."

The valid question is that the lawyer wouldn't name sources or the person that had the complaints put against them. It sounds like an anonymous source.

To me its misdirection unless there's some proof attached to it.

The Lawyer's taken on a bad client and he's swimming in it. Frankly Dhalla has already purjured herself during these proceedings with the pass port stuff where she claimed that she told the immagration advocate to call her brother about the passports. However the opposite was true.

I would expect that behind closed doors, the Liberal party is preparing exit interview questions for Rudy.
