I'm willing to bet this show winds down with them doing all this crap to try and change the timeline. The last episode shows them in the plane like the very start, and then the final shot is the plane hitting turbulance and breaking up while crashing, starting the whole cycle again.

The more I think about it, they all might be Jacob.

Ben says that he has never seen Jacob. My guess is that a group of them come to the realization that their lives were better off being on the island.

They then make up this idea of Jacob in order to ensure that the chain of events necessary for that result happens.

Jacob doesn't exist as a single person, he's just an idea. In reality, it's a group of Jack, Kate, Desmond etc. manipulating everything.

Recap and 2 hour season finale airs tommorow. I can't believe they shortened this season as well, another writers strike I am not aware of? Whatever happened to the 22+ episodes per season?

It is going to be a long wait till 2010 when season 6 ties up all the loose ends.

When they set an end to the series, they changed it so the last 3 seasons would be 16 episodes each, starting in January and running straight kinda like 24 does it.

I believe they added an episode to this and next years seasons because of the writers strike.

I bet that Jacob is the verizon can you hear me now guy.

We won't find out until the last episode when patrick duffy steps out of the shower naked and exclaims that he shouldn't eat taco bell because he has the most screwed up dreams. then he reveals that Jacob looks like the verizon guy.

Then the whole cast surrounds Duffy and they point and laugh at us before they do a can can to Scandals "The warrior" and the final shot is JJ Abrams middle finger while he hums the star spangled banner.

WARNING: LONG SHOT JACOB THEORY

As you may recall in episode 1 or 2 the smoke monster kills the pilot of flight 815... and as you recall when Ben moved the island he had to be judged when he came back... I don't think the smoke monster killed the pilot willy nilly...(I dont think the smoke monster does anything willy nilly)

Anywho... my point is i think Jacob is the pilot of 815.

Jacob moved the island before the 815 crash and wanted to get back on the island and wanted other people to get on the island for a specific purpose.(blowing up the nuke perhaps?)
Then Jacob is judged by the smoke monster and proved guilty and maybe killed or really badly wounded by it. (After seeing him bloody and in the tree its hard to say he wasn't dead.) If he is killed by the smoke monster then maybe he gets brought back to life (for X reason) with the ability to be invisible... (Theory starts to get extremely weak here.)

And Locke knows this and wants to kill him for bringing everyone to the island.

Matt Parkman is too much of a name actor to be a random and I could see him having a role

He's a random because he's a childhood friend of JJ Abrams and has had a role on everyone of his shows until he joined Heroes.

Well I've been hearing that LOST is planned to be the same end to the series as it's been from the start and I'm putting a great emphasis on the pilot (pilot kinda works in two ways in this sentence). In the pilot something that really didnt make sense was the pilots death as we learn more about the smoke monster.

And I think Christian being Jacob is still speculation... Or else I missed something huge. Hopefully we find out soon.

I don't have a working theory as of yet. However Locke is dead, and "Alive Locke" is the smoke monster, who is also the guy from the beginning of the episode that says he wants to kill Jacob.

Questions:

is Jacob good or evil? He seems good in the episode, however it's Lost. He could be the devil who is using Ben-like manipulation to appear good and provide you down the road to Hell which is paved in good intentions.

Who is on the beach with Jacob?

What is Richard's role? Where does he come into play? How does he meet Jacob?

Can Jacob leave the island willy-nilly? Is Richard of the same decent as Jacob, thus not aging?

Stupid LOST making me wait 7 months until I get to see it again.
