I can appreciate that. My point was some are using a maid service for what i mentioned above.

??? Lots of people are married, have a house, have pets but don't have cleaning services. My sister is married, lives in a farmhouse, works on the farm with her husband, has a dog, 2 cats, along with farm animals (who don't live in the house, luckily), and 3 kids (who do live in the house, unfortunately), but she doesn't have a maid. And her place is immaculate.
That talk like a maid is a necessity is a bit much. Saying someone is lazy for having one, though, is a bit much, too, I agree. Although, I don't personally see the need for one unless you really don't like doing housework.

I thought this thread was about this weeks line-up at the French Maid. Disappointing.

Both my parents had fairly demanding jobs but still magaed to get the cleaning done.
If someone doesn't want to do it i can appreciate them wanting to pay. I just don't buy the argument of 2 people living under the same roof and claiming they have no time.

It isn't about time it is about making a choice. Pay somebody else to do and then I do something else.
So stop being an ass about it. Sheesh.

My parents did fine without any maid service. They raised us 3 kids plus we had 2 dogs in the family.

You started with calling people lazy who get a maid service. I certainly read that part.

I qualified my statement later.
That said i don't know any families that have $240 plus a month to pay for maid service. Most i know are struggling to pay the bills and use what little they have left over for a vacation and thier RRSP's.

WTF? I thought one of the main reasons to get married is so you don't need to pay for maid service!

I still don't see where you 'qualified your statement later'.
Anyway, sounds like the people you know are just too lazy to make enough money to afford a maid service. That is not a problem for the people that I know. We all can afford the maid service, the vacations and the RRSPs, and the RESPs etc etc.

Larf! Are you calling me lazy? That's ok, I suppose I am when it comes to housekeeping.
We have a lady who comes in twice a month and does a great job. I would rather have a clean home and people think I'm a little lazy than clean it myself (we do still do the small daily stuff btw) and be hating every minute of it.
Life is short. If you can afford things that make your life easier - do it.

ALL ABOARD!

I'm all for getting a maid if you actually do something with that extra time you save. If you're just sitting around watching TV I think you could spend 2 or so hours a week giving your house a good cleaning. I guess if you don't like it that much it makes sense. It does bother me though when people would rather sit on their asses than clean the house they spent a lot of money on.
Also, I haven't been impressed with the jobs that maids do in the houses I've seen. Window ledges and blinds are still dusty. Shelves are dusty. I'm a neat freak though.

It is interesting how many posters are so against having a 'maid service' that they feel they can judge people who have one. Why would they care? Envy?

Your prayers have been answered
'Exotic' maids naughty and neat
Quote:
EDMONTON -- Sit back and enjoy the show, but don't expect these maids to touch your toilet.

A fledgling city cleaning service features young women clad in French maid outfits, red stilettos and fishnet stockings.
"They do the same job as regular cleaners, but they look fantastic doing it," said Elise Skoglund, owner of Good Clean Fun exotic maid service, which opened up shop in Edmonton last fall.
For $125 an hour, a sexy maid will do everything from dusting the TV to wiping the counters, but toilets are a no-go zone.
Skoglund explained that since the maid is already dressed in skimpy clothes and high heels, getting down on her hands and knees to clean the toilet would cross the line into degrading territory.
