I read something about this i the paper while ago, they said something to the extent of someone not being sure it was a Bobcat and the sighting was investigated (so they drove around for 5mins and seen nothing) and thats kinda where it ended.
I seen two Bobcats up by Fox Creek/Whitecourt last winter I wouldn't be too worried they are tiny and looked highly kickable.

Now i kind of want to see my cat fight a bobcat purely for the street cred he would receive.

Bobcats are small, but tough. They re no house cats. They are big wild animals, that if they wanted to could do some damage.
They are beautiful animals in the wild. They are mysterious, just like their bigger cousins the Linx. They are amazing creatures.
If they are well fed, you should be good. They are reclusive and shun the public, like Dion! Think of them as Theo Fleury. LOL!

I'm pretty sure that the original photo is a Lynx and not a Bobcat....the tufted ears are a dead giveaway IIRC?

I agree, and the paws of a lynx are much larger than a bobcat. Lynx are a bit larger overall as well.
We get tons of bobcats at the airport where I work (lots of rabbits on the airfield). We trap and relocate all of the bobcats we can. Handling them is not an enjoyable experience.
Bobcat
Canadian Lynx
I'm no biologist, but I've seen both. Just going by observation.

Identification can be tricky.
There are many sub-species of bobcats. Where bobcats and lynx over-lap, there are also hybrids.

How many Bobcats could you fight against at once and win?
I'm thinking probably 6. Any more than that and I think things would get a little dicey.
After all, they're only wee cats, aren't they?

Once I found out the size of a bobcat I didn't really care about the topic anymore and immediately thought about how many I could wrassle.

Slightly OT, but i was snowshoeing once when I heard a baby crying. It turned out to be a baby Lynx or Bobcat, not sure which. It sounded exactly like a human baby though. If freaked me out until I identified that the source was a baby Lynx/Bobcat. I thought someone had abandoned a newborn in the snow.

Cool. I never knew whether it was a Bobcat or Lynx, so thanks for enlightening me.

You can see the differences between a bobcat and a lynx at this site. Both beautiful cats.

Not sure what the City can do as there are lots of wild animals in the City... For example last year in Fish Creek a Couger was relocated, A bear was also found and relocated. I would guess there would be quite a few Bob Cats in Fish Creek. Not to mention a crap load of Coyotes and Foxes.

You just need to have a bathroom that can be dedicated to the cat during the litter training phase. We have four bathrooms so we should be able to assign one for that purpose for a month or two.

I saw a book on that a few years ago and always thought it was a joke?
