yeah, he did, but says line is crazy. Just wants to know if he needs stitches or not, and then if so, will go wait. if not, go home.

If he can see bone, he needs stitches.

Yeah, I think he's SOL. I think the only issue is that the triage nurse probably couldn't tell him a yes or no, so he could end up waiting hours just to find out all it needs is a butterfly bandaid or whatever. But, the hospital is probably his only option since it may have sliced right through.
Thanks for the speedy replies

Sorry I am late to the parade here.
Isn't the Sheldon Chumir centre open 24/7. It replaced the 8th & 8th and is on the Old Colonel Belcher Site downtown. Not really "South" but may have shorter lines than the Rockyview this time of evening.

Thanks for the replies guys. The rockyview emergancy was backed up almost out the door.
The cut is about and inch in length on the oustide, and then about 2 inches across on the inside of my lip, so I think it's pretty bad.
I called the health link and she said they were having technical difficulties, so she couldn't help me, and told me to calll back in 2 or 3 hours.
My best bet now, is when I went into the Macs by my house, the east indian cashier told me he's a doctor, and that if I come back after 1am (when it usually slows down to a crawl) he'll close the store and take me to his house and stitch'r up. It seemed a little fishy, but I've heard lots of those guys actually are doctors and other high ranking professions in their home countries, but can't get get recognized here.

Yeah, that would be quite a drive. I may try the urgent care centre in okotoks, as it's just a quick 15 minute jaunt down the highway for me. I remember someone told me that they're open 24/7 but rarely have anyone there late at night and you basically get helped immediatly. I'll just try and confirm that they're actually open 24/7 before driving all the way out there.
If that doesn't work, I'll probably just go to the Mac's cashier/doctor's house and take my chances.

The thing I'm most worried about is that when I asked if he has the ability to freeze my mouth, he told me that freezing is for pussies and it will only hurt for a second.
Having never had stitches inside my mouth before, can anyone tell me if this is going to hurt like a MF if it's not frozen first?

Enjoy the Hiv.

Yeah, I'd take a handful of Tylenol and take your chances waiting at the hospital. As cool a story as "the dude at mac's took me to his house and stitched me up" would be (And it would really be cool) I wouldn't trust it.

We have a hospital here in High River flameswin. You might want to try the emerg here. I doubt they'd have the lineups the Calgary ones have.

How long can I wait before getting it stitched up? Like what if I were to get up tomorrow morning and basically stand outside the walk in clinic by house until it opens?

You'll likely drown in your own blood before you make it to morning.

Why take the risk of them not being to stich you up properly. I'd go to the hospital.

That's a good point, it isn't bleeding profusely, but I still have to keep holding paper towel against it, so it may not be good to wait til 9am or whenever they open.
