Default Post your PC Builds!

I didn't see a thread on this, and just got a new rig, so I figure I'd post mine.

Case: Cooler Master 932 HAF Tower
CPU: i7 920
GPU: BFG GeForce GTX295
RAM: 6 GB Corsair XMS3-1333
HDD: 640 WD Caviar Black 7200 RPM 32 MB Cache
PSU: Antec True Power Quattro 1000W
Mobo: Asus P6T X58
Heatsink: Termalright Ultra 120 Extreme w/120 mm Fan
Keyboard: Logitech G15
Mouse: Logitech G5

It's a beast, absolutely destroys anything you throw at it.

EDIT: Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse Added

Samsung T220
I want to upgrade the monitor, considering I wasn't planning on spending this much on a system, and really want a display that can show it off.

It's funny how AMD's implosion has really stalled the processor wars. I did some research and couldn't support a cost/benefit upgrade to i7, especially having to shell out for DDR3. So, on I soldiered on with a Q6600.

I'd really like to upgrade to dual widescreen monitors, but my table's too small, 2 widescreens would fall right off. Clearly I need a giant single monitor instead.

Motherboard: ASUS P5K
CPU: Intel Q6600
RAM: 4GB Crucial Ballistix PC8500 (both sticks have crapped out, a 1st for me - Crucial RMA is terrific though)
Video: Evga GTX 280 1GB
HDs: 1xWD Raptor 74 GB, bunch of misc storage drives.
Optical: Old Pioneer DVRXXX - waiting for new BD drives to drop in price.
Case:Trusty old LianLi PC-70 tower. So damn big as long as ATX exists, it should be the only case I ever need.
PSU: Corsair 650HX
Monitor: 2x Dell 1905 FP

I think the T220 is pretty ugly. I hate curvy things like that. Reminds me of futurism in the 50s and 60s mixed with a leg lamp. Unless your computer also has curves and a waist like that...it just doesn't match.

Shuttle XPC SN21G5
AMD 3800+ X2 @ 2.6 GHz
XFX 8800GT 512MB Alpha Dog XXX
Nvidia GeForce 6100
2GB OCZ PC-4000 EB Platinum
WD6400AAKS 640GB HDD
Shuttle PC50 300W 1U PSU
Shuttle PC40 Wireless Module

Not as powerful or impressive as others but I can play Crysis at 1680x1050 native res with high settings and everything else with 2-4x AA and it's the size of a lunchbox and it fits in a backpack.

AMD 64 3200 OC'd to 2.4 GHz whoop whoop
2 GB OCZ Platinum DDR something or other (3200),
My ATI 1800 GTO packed it in and I've now got a GForce 7300
Soundblaster.. ... ... Ummmm.. what came after the audigy? SB X-FI, that's it!
Nvidia N something SLI deluxe, whatever that first model motherboard was
1x320 GB seagate whatever came after the 7200 barracuda
1x250 GB seagate whatever came after the 7200 barracuda
It's in some sort of case, and I have 2 DVD burners that don't work all that well.
Windows XP

I used to know this stuff.. and reply on upgrade threads.. and read reviews/news, follow what's coming out. Now I had to google what that thing was the first guy had. . . Granted once I read it I still remembered the naming convention from roadmaps.. but know nothing about it.

What, is my CPU 4 generations old now?

With all this experience is there anyone who would like to earn some cash and fix my computer?

Send me a PM if you do.

I'm pulling the trigger on this mac pro next month

Two 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
16GB (8x2GB) RAM
1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
One 16x SuperDrive
Apple Mighty Mouse
Apple Keyboard + User's Guide
Accessory kit

Going to add in a blu ray drive to run in windows (bootcamp) and another video card that will be used to game while running windows, but will be using it mostly for photo and video editing. Mac really doesn't have a lot of options for video cards on the OS side.

And what are you throwing at it that requires that hardware?

I have a cousin that does huge irrigation designs for golf courses that can punish a computer, but 6GB of RAM needed?

Core i7 architecture means you need memory in groups of 3 for the best performance, so it's either 3GB (not enough) or 6GB.

Plus RAM's cheap.

I went from a TI-99 that my dad had when I was born, to a no-name 386, to an Packard Bell 75Mhz Pentium 1 (with Windows Navigator!), to an HP 650Mhz Pentium 3, and then started building my own.

I started with a 1.7Ghz 1st generation P4 and GeForce3 back when each of those was literally the fastest thing you could buy. That was before the days of Extreme Editions and quad SLI, when it was hardly possible to spend more than $3k.

My 2nd computer was a 3.4Ghz last generation P4 with a GF6800, and now I have a Q9300 with a GF9600. Each of my computers has gotten less "top of the line" as the "top of the line" has gotten ridiculously expensive. Instead I just have a ridiculously over-the-top case, the Xclio A380, to make up for it.
