				 Weekend Suggestions..

The girlfriend and I are looking for something to do on the long weekend. But for some reason I keep drawing a blank on something to do.
Can anyone suggest something for part of the weekend (or an all day thing) that's not overly expensive, but is out of town?

Hookers and blow are already on the list..

Seriously, there was a Herald article the other day about places to go in Calgary for a first date - will see if I can link it for you.

Cheech and Chong on Friday night? That's where I'm going!
My birthday is that Sunday and we're going to spend it exploring the Icefields Parkway since it's supposed to be above 0 all weekend. There's a pretty cheap day trip.

My girlfriend and I just spent last weekend in Banff. For all 22 years of my life I've lived next to one of the most beautiful places in the world, and this was the first time I'd stayed over night there and actually explored the town. We went to the hot springs (cave and basin is pretty cool) and out for a cheapish dinner, walked around town and ate all the fudge (what's with the fudge in banff?) from the fudge stores. The Fox hotel has some great deals on...around $140/night, the hotel is brand new and very nice.
Great getaway on a students budget! If you wanted to go even cheaper on the hotel check out Canmore...Probably a bit less.

My friends sent me and my new Bride to Storm Mountain Lodge for a wedding gift. It was great, not much to do but hang around and spend time talking, having dinner, drink some wine and (CENSORED) stuff.
Quiet place but had a great time.
