Forgive me if this has been discussed here before. I'm looking at getting a portable musical device. An ipod would be sweet but they're quite pricey. Limited by budget concerns, I'm considering a flash-based player since they're pretty small, won't skip and have stellar battery life. Specifically, I'm considering this player.

Does anyone have any advice with respect to this specific player? Does anyone have a better flash-based player they could recommend? Or, should I just bite the bullet and go for the ipod? Any/all advice would be appreciated...

Oh fata. What a noob thing to do. That's one of the downfalls of tabbed browsing: you sometimes lose track of which tab you're in. At least that's what I do a lot of the time...

But seriously, any advice?

Unless you're getting a discount that MP3 player is a ripoff.

The Ipod mini can't be much more that that one is it? I love my Ipod mini, spend the extra $50 or whatever it is.

I was looking on Ebay and it seems like you can buy MP3 dollars for 10 or 20 bucks. I'm not sure what the catch is though, I think they're from Hong Kong. Shipping is probably $30 on most of them though. Check out Ebay and report back.

I bought a PSP.. you need to spend a bit more on flash cards. But if you're getting media on the go, why not get it ALL!

Depends what you want. If you don't have alot of music, there is no point in getting a hard drive player. But if you do have a large collection, it's great to be able to keep it all with you and not have to switch the music that's on your player.

If you do want a large storage player, but don't want to spend as much, check out the creative labs models. They are slightly larger in physical size than an ipod, but they are much cheeper and really good players.

Having had 3 creative models and a 40g ipod, I would definately advise the creatives as a cheeper, yet just as good alternative to ipods.

Also check the prices at
http://www.memoryexpress.com/

They always seem to be much cheaper than everyone else.
Including $10 less on the one you linked from future shop.
B-)
