I'm heading down there after work today and wanted to know if there are any suggestions for cheap or free parking down by the library downtown.

If you're going after 4:00, most of the downtown city-owned parkades have $2.00 parking for the entire evening. I think this includes city hall.

You can park for free on 8th avenue, east of 4th Street SE for free. Walk is about four blocks but it's kind of seedy so if you're going to be after dark then scratch that. Other option are the meters on the back side of city hall, then you can walk through city hall to the south plus 15 and get to the library that way. Think they are two bucks after six.
