If they extended it to 145am that is only 1/2 an hour later than usual. I have on dozens of occassions taken the last train which is about 115am IIRC.

Not sure how anyone could say that an extra half an hour is any real effort on the cities part. You want to extend it, try making the trains run all night IMO.

That's going to happen at 2am, but even then it will take time for the bars to empty, and they extended it til 1:45 am? C'mon.
Do you really want to have a C-Train full of drunks after 2am?
A taxi is still the safest way.

Try and get a taxi at 2AM?

It's been well reported there's a severe shortage of taxis in this city.

The C -Trian is the best option right now to keep them off the road.

The only thing is that if you don't live near a C-train stop you still have to get a cab. I am guessing it's tougher to get a cab at a C-train stop versus outside a bar downtown where they often line up at closing time.

My philosphy is that if you can afford to spend money on booze, then budget a few extra bucks for a cab ride home. It's the responsible thing to do unless someone needs a DUI to help your fledging acting career like Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton.
