Default 20th anniversary of Lockerbie air disaster today.

Seems not that long ago. My senior year in high school and I remember it like it was yesterday.

The beginnings of far worse things.

Yikes...you know that the years are rolling up on you when you remember things from 20 years ago quite clearly. Certainly a tragic event as it was probably the worst air line event until September 11th during my life time.

Was that the beginning of the end for Pam Am Airlines, I'm not much into Aviation history, but during the 60's and 70's weren't they the big air carrier in the world. Seems to me that not too long after that, they were done.

Yeah, and before that he was competing with them as the Aviator....I guess Leo was the guy who ruined that airline.

I just saw the May Day episode about this the other day. The damage done to that town was incredible. Very sad event, especially for a little town like that. The crator was huge. One woman that lived in the town was interviewed at the time of the event, she was crying, basically said something to the effect of 'I don't see how I or anyone can believe in God now.' Really sad.

I don't remember this at all. I was alive, but still young though.

Well calling it a "disaster" makes it sound like an accident which it wasn't.

Why does the word disaster imply accident to you? It certainly doesn't to me. It implies a certain level of devestation.

Ooookaaay... I never think accident when I hear that. What would you call it then? A life ending event?
