Those dang Rogers kids.
The two Christmas editions are brutal. Especially the puppy one where the 'fro proclaims I think he just 3 G'd on the rug. Ah so stupid!!!! Is it because it sorta rhymes with peed? What are you doing to my brain Rogers?!?
Also, has anyone noticed that the token minority actor has only gotten like 2 lines the entire run of these commercials? Why isn't he allowed to speak? And in the flip phone one where the girl spazzes like a spastic chimpanzee, he just stands motionless in the corner for the entire duration.

Whatever the 3 or 4 commercials are that TSN decides will be the only commercials shown during the World Juniors.

So how is the college kid supposed to take care of a puppy while he is away? Or did he drop out of college because he had an illicit affair with the dean's daughter? or was he selling e after class? or is he so 3g focused that he fell behind in his classes and flunked?
edit: alas anna, that is why i am with you, since i do it too...

right now the guy writing the love letter to the wendy's bacon mushroom melt burger, dreaming about having it's warm, gooey sauce in his mouth is absolutely pissing me off. ######ed concept right from the beginning. plus those burgers are nasty
And the scotiabank "second opinion" ad; they couldn't make the guy look any more Jewish if they put a yamulka on his head and those little hair extension thingies on him, because we all know how much Jewish people worry about money. Racist bastids!

"I tried to do handstands for you, I tried to do handstands for you..."
What? What does that even mean? Why? What would possess you to do something so astoundingly meaningless? Who asked you to? What did you hope to accomplish?

The #1 commercial that annoys me right now is the "Sports Select: Play with Your Brain" that comes on about 100 times per Flames game on Sportsnet.

I had assumed, based on previous commercials, that he dropped out of college because he was just too much of a momma's boy and couldn't stand to be away from his parents. Getting him a puppy was his parents' attempt to teach him some responsibility instead of just hanging around home all day, texting his mother every fifteen minutes.

What I do, I mute my TV when the commercials come on, and unmute when my show comes back on. It saves me the hassle of at least listening to all the commercials I don't care about. Just something to try. Or maybe you all secretly love watching those commercials you hate.

Maybe im really reaching, but I noticed something on Sportsnet. The promo ads for the Flames has the sounds of the Oilers goal horn and not the Flames goal horn.

Has anyone else noticed that every second commercial that comes on T.V. today portrays men as bumbling idiots who are incapable of tying their own shoe without there spouses assistance? There is the one were the guys go to setup the Rodgers cable box and than the wife just plugs it in and sarcastically says "He's so handy" at the end. Or the one were the guy can't take a simple measurement so his wife was kind enough to buy him a tape measure with digital screen?! I just saw a new yesterday when the wife buys a guy a nail gun or something and she is the only one using it. At the end she just comes and takes it from him, and he just sits there like a spineless tool. And the worst is the one where the Dad isn't even smart enough for his little daughters when he's trying to pick-out a coffee maker.
It really irritates me.

haha.. I know this is blasphemy, but I actually like the Tim Horton's commercial. First time ever. I chuckle every time I see it.
But pretty much every other commercial is awful awful awful. Watching football all day on a cold Sunday can lead someone to lose their sanity.

How about the sheer stupidity of ADT security commercials where thieves have decided that the best time to kick in someone's door is in broad daylight.

This isn't just commercials, it seems like it's been a running theme for our society for most of my adult life (24). Did other generations have this inferiority complex of depicting alpha males as morons? Is it a gender equality issue, but we think that the only way to pull it off is to have men so stupid that women doing unremarkable things is celebrated?
I'm really hoping we evolve past this point, because its a pretty pathetic reflection of our society.

Oh, and has anyone else noticed that Vagasil commercials always seem to air around suppertime?? Nothing like diggin into some mashed potato's and that commercial comes on. I have noticed feminine product commercials get away with a lot more then what men could. Can you imagine if some guy came on your tv and said "When my crotch gets all sweaty and my balls itch like hell I use Gold Bond Medicated Powder for fast effective relief!" Women would be in an uproar! lol

How about the Oka cheese one? "We know cheese like the back of our hand"
What? That doesn't even make sense!

And on the flip side, there was one a while ago that had a "picture in picture" of football highlights. Probably the best idea ever- as I know I would sit through the ad instead of flipping channels.

Yup. That was awesome.
I know I already whined about this, but I really want to punch the Spence guy. His voice just makes me angry. The way he talks makes me angry. The fact that he is alive makes me angry. I don't think I've ever hated a nameless faceless person the way I hate that guy.
I've decided that I want to punch him in the throat. Right in the middle of him over-emphasizing a word like "We REEEEEEAAALLLLLLYYYY think you're going to be happy. We REEEEE *PUNCH*".
