Quicktime Problem - Please Help!

So, I am having a chronic problem with Quicktime and I wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix it.

Below is a screenshot of a trailer playing on Quicktime in Firefox, notice that the controls for Quicktime are blacked out. The controls are still there - if I click on various places on the bar I can get different things to happen but the controls are blacked out. I have reinstalled both firefox and quicktime repeatedly with no luck.

Does this problem only occur in Firefox? Do you have the problem in IE?

Might be a browser issue.

I absolutely HATE the quicktime browser plugins. Apple is a terrible developer on the Windows platform...

I usually set the .mov file type to open outside of the browser in Quicktime itself.

If nothing else switch the QT preference to show videos in the player.
