I find it funny, I'm not sure how many other people in the section do. Although there are a bunch of single game sales, so there are always people for them to harangue.

What section you in? Were in 213 and we do that exact thing. Especially with a tie game. "LATE FOR AN APPOINTMENT?" "DON'T FORGET TO TIP YOUR USHER" and jingling the keys is our usuals.. lol

I know the theory is that he would say that was done during the bad years (I read that). I don't interpret it that way, though.
If that is what he meant, then I'm shocked, because my dad's been a season ticket holder since the inaugural season. Nothing of the sort has ever been offered to him. Even during the bad years.

Are you simple or something? What 'theory' are you talking about? He took the time to re-explain what he meant (he shouldn't have had to, btw) and yet you don't seem to get it after the second go round. WOW..

Lol, i'm really laughing at this. I had a tiny bad experience at the Saddleroom Restaurant and they brought us back and gave us the best table and a fully compt 5 course meal and drinks.
Also, STH's used to get first dibs and any extra tickets available for games and playoffs (pre 2005). It sucks that is gone now but times have changed.

I can't believe they wouldn't even give you a warning, or tell you what you were doing wrong. Sounds like you guys handled things in a civil manner, I would have been furious!
I hear you almost every game from just left of center (over the Flames bench). All I have to say is keep it up! I hope you get some sort of explanation.

In our old seats we used to just razz the F out of anyone who left early, it was awesome. We only used to do it when the game indicated that they obviously didn't care about the outcome though, ie; down by one, up by one, or a tie game.
We once heckled some rich looking lady, then realized she had a rich (wearing a suit of course) husband, who stood at the entrance way, looking up demanding to know who was heckling her. Then about 10 or 11 fans just heckled the sh** out of both of them for leaving early and they put their heads down and left, lol.
I'm glad to hear this happens all over the dome.

It was mainly during warmups that people were asked to back away from the glass. I certainly dont advocate banging on or crawling up the glass but it happens all the time. It just struck me as odd that an NHL official was actually walking around with a clipboard telling people to stop. I've always seen officials wandering around there but they had been turning a blind eye to everything. What really aggravates me is the behavior of some adults when a puck goes into the stands. The practically pulverize the little kids in an effort to get the puck. Another great thing is when you get a seat near the tunnel and just before the end of the period some 350 lb. guy comes out of nowhere and crashes onto you because he has the need to high- 5 Jay Bouwmeester on his way to the locker room. Sure hope the fans up there have better manners than the ones here

Knowing a head usher who worked at the dome for years, I believe they just ask you to be quiet, and she felt so lame having to do that, but it's a job. That being said, if I'm at a game I am probably louder than that whole section, and it's a loud section.
Opera pipes and Saddledome heroin FTW!

The run in 04 obviously brought back some of the roar in the crowd but it seems to be cycling back slowly. I think its a combination of people growing up and the ticket prices increasing.
I don't know why but this story reminded me of a timne my friends went to a game around '98 and sat in the lower bowl. They had an usher approach them and told them they shouldn't cheer so loud because they are disturbing the other fans around them. I was so embarrassed as a flame fan back then when I heard that.

It was disgustingly quiet, quiet as a church mouse, unless it was the playoffs. Real corporate crowd then. I would actually get nudged if I cheered or asked to sit down if I jumped up when we scored.

It is pretty pathetic at the Saddledome. Many times over the years I have been told to be quiet when I was yelling and screaming random thoughts by an usher. I love the atmosphere at the Bell centre where it seems that excitement is encouraged and it's even frowned upon if you're just sitting there with your thumb up your ass.
I understand that it is a family environment, but I do not think that the fans that enjoy helping the volume get up should get punished. Section 219 has become a library because of the draconian nature of the crowd control. I feel for you Facepaint. People who complain about the noise should get out. It's a freakin hockey game!

I'm quite curious with how this will shake down from the Flames perspective.
Surely in today's marketplace and given recent market events, there would be the tendency to lean in favour of long term season ticket holders.
I'm quite surprised.
Are you sure no one did something stupid?
