NHL 09 BAP Attribute help needed
I tried searching for this here and all over the net but couldn't find any clear answers.
I've just started playing on a club online with a couple buddies. We're not bad at the game but we get schooled online and it seems to be because our created players are crud, while our opponents fly by us constantly.
How do I make my created player better? Can I gain points by playing offline or do I have to play online only? How many attribute points can my player gain? Does he top-out at a certain amount of spendable points or could he eventually be a 95 overall?
It's not all that fun right now losing this badly and having our players so slow with horrible shooting

Your online and offline players are totally separate. How you play online will determine your grades for your online character. You can go to the Performance Tracker to see how your offline and online characters are doing. Once you reach certain milestones and have high enough grades you can upgrade your attributes for your online character.
Your online character will not be able to improve as much as your offline character because your possible extra attribute points are limited.

yeah, for online there are several goals you have to get to to get more attribute points.
you get 3 in each area by default.
after 25 games with at least a c+ rating, you get 4 more
after about 75 games with at least a b- rating, you get 4 more
after about 125 games with at least a b rating, you get 4 more
after like 175 games with an a- rating you get i think 4 more
though no one on our team has got the last upgrade yet. and the games amount are approximate. dont remember the exact numbers without a ps3 around.

For team play be sure to block shots, poke check effectively and don't make poor passes.

yeah, in addition you want to make sure your giveaway/takeaway ratio is in the positive. i am still plagued by all my early eashl turnovers. with as many games as i've played now, its hard to change the ratio since the aggregate amounts are so large. but i am slowly closing the gap and getting back to an even status...

Sniper or playmaker. I am enjoying having my passing at 99. You make a lot of passes that normally wouldn't make it through. Also your skates make a huge diffrence on your speed.

I find that defense is the best position for improving your score. Just make sure you get the puck out of the zone and don't turn it over. Position is easy and for stats just get a couple of assists. I average a "A" score since I started doing this.
edit: I also noticed that I get a lot less checking penalties when I'm on defense.
