Ripple chips are far superior for dipping due to the obvious ridges but also for the often overlooked factor of them being thicker resulting in less breakage when using a thick dip.
While eating a bag of plain chips sans dip, the clear choice is plain.

If the poll were ripple chips versus Palin, I think ripple chips would be the clear winner!

Ripple are definitely better than plain. I would agree with that.
But Lays in general are only tolerable. Old Dutch takes the prize IMO. Actually Sobeys store brand are my favorite. Especially the Salt and Vinegar variety.

the surface area to size ratio is higher on the ripples. therefore, there is more flavor per chip if the flavor per area is constant.
ripple is delicious.

I read Ripple vs Palin as well ... was definitely voting Ripple.
Regular taste better on their own. Once dip is involved it isn't even a contest, Ripple FTW.

Miss Vickie's sea salt and malt vinegar are a personal fave as well as sour cream and red pepper.
I do think kettle chips >>> regular chips every time.

You can't tell me how to think..
I don't care for Ripple so much. They're better for dipping, but on their own, I like the plain ones more.

Yeah I saw Ripple Chips vs Palin too. You know its tough times for the Republicans when Ripple Chips probably would have helped the Republicans more then Palin.
