Aw, crap! I didn't know about Armstrong! Soon it's just going to be easier to list who's actually available to play!! (I agree though....with time, Armstrong is only going to get better.)
As for Eriksson....I'm glad he finally got on the plane, but I'll believe all this has really happened when I see him on the ice! Hopefully that will be this weekend. Friday night, then Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon with travel in between.....these are going to be some tired hockey players!

Alot of dissing going on about his injury. Was the injury a hand or finger injury? If Erikkson had a metacarpal injury it is alot worse than a finger injury. And if it was a finger injury, it depends on what finger. There is a lot of speculation and I'd just leave the injury for what it is, management is not going to release the specifics to it.
Regarless, I hope he does well. Sounds like Quad City is in need of some healthy bodies.

I know, I read the article and they are really talking this guy up. I know they're desperate, but I would not be surprised if there were numerous better defencemen in the AHL already...

Yea cause in rec hockey you practice and work out every day on top of playing actual real physical games with highly skilled and tough players...
Good for you, you played for fun with a broken finger...You want a hero cookie? Grow the F up...

Don't some NHL'ers play through worse injuries than the one Anders has, though? Me personally, I play men's league soccer and have played full games with a a ripped tendon in my foot.
Not saying Anders should play, but if it's just a broken finger, you can bandage them up pretty well and play through alot of the pain. Of course, I'm no doctor either, so perhaps Anders' injury is somewhat severe, none of us will ever really know.

If the broken finger is on the hand that's his strong hand, his accuracy will be even worse for passes and shots than before. He already had trouble making accurate passes and turning over the puck, think of how much worse his turnovers could be with worse accuracy than he's shown in the past.

We have know idea what is wrong with his hand. A 'broken hand' is a completely useless diagnosis. Saying 'my friend/I played with XXX injury with no problems' does not mean he can play, it means your friend had a diagnosis and he could play. He may not be able to lift a pencil right now, let alone a hockey stick.
All I am saying is maybe lay off the guy for 'not showing up and earing his money' until you know why. IF it was an injury he could have played with, than talk about it. I doubt the Flames are paying him a million and a half to sit around.

As has been mentioned, we don't KNOW how bad this finger injury is. It matters a great deal what finger, where on the finger, whether it's a clean break/fracture/etc. Keep in mind too, it's the start of the season. With many injuries (possibly all...I can't say for sure), continuing to aggravate them, rather than letting them heal, could lead to chronic problems, which may never go away. For a guy who still wants to play in the NHL, the start of the AHL season just can't take the priority. We don't even know if it's his choice or not...the team doctors have to clear him, don't they.
The fact of the matter is it would be great to have him playing, but we simply don't know enough about his situation to say anything much about it that isn't wild speculation.

Apparently he's also recovering from step throat, so whether he'll play tonight (next game) in Rochester is debatable. They said he was making the road trip, so maybe Saturday in Toronto or Sunday in Hamilton.....
I'll be watching and will post at the first Eriksson sighting!
