Default Teenage Head frontman Frankie Venom dead at 51

Bummer

I think troutman and I might be the only ol' fellers to remember this group.

I'm an old feller too, and I remember them well. I even saw them in concert at some bar in the early '80s. A really fun band, and Frankie was an excellent performer. RIP FV.

flamewin: Yes, the article said they played in Hamilton earlier this summer, and are (were?) scheduled to play at the Grey Cup in Montreal.

I recall them, they were well known in SW Ont when I was in high school. I always go them and Forgotten Rebels mixed up.

I'm thinking if you were a teen in the 80s you have a good chance of knowing who they are.

R.I.P.

I've told this story before - Teenage Head was the loudest concert I have ever been to (late 1980s?). Saw them at a community hall in the SW (69th St now), and they were so loud, the only way we could communicate was by pointing out letters on our beer cans to spell words.

Yeah, I was into the whole punk music scene without the punk looks in high school. Sex Pistols, DOA, Dead Kennedy's. Teenage Head was in a lot of ways punk pop, they did get some radio play back then. Didn't know they were still touring, which to me goes against the whole punch credo of burning out quickly.

I may be the youngest member of CP (23) to know who these guys are. Never seen them live though.

Well I was 23 in February and knew them, so I'm probably the youngest...
