I'd go with Girardi or Seabrook.

Out of those guys, I would take Liles.
He is going to get the most PP time out of those guys by far.
Paul Martin doesn't generally get a lot of points.
Wideman would be my second choice.
If PIM's were included, Seabrook.

If you are getting additional points for OTG and GWG, then you should put a premium on goal scorers. Boucher has the talent to be the best point producer of the bunch, but he is aging (35) and breaking down. Sekera is unproven and likely not to be better than anyone else on the list (this year). Girardi could be bit by the sophomore jinx, but isn't likely better than the others. Oduya and Martin play on a team that will likely struggle to score this year.
So that leaves Bieksa, Wideman, Seabrook, & Liles. Take a look at their stats. If you need PIMs, then get rid of Liles. I don't think you could go wrong with any of these 4, but here are my personal opinions (for what it's worth):
Bieksa hasn't seemed like the same player that made the all-rookie team. Wideman is underappreciated, but the team is not deep with talent. I think Liles is over-rated. Seabrook is a key d-man on a team where the sky is the limit, such a boon of young talent, could be scoring in bunches this year.
I personally would take Seabrook.

Anyone got any thoughts on the top scoring rookie this year?

I'm not sure about rookies that much...But I could name some that have made the cut...
Stamkos
Turris
Brassard
Tikhonov (hm theres one more on phoenix)
Voracek
Okposo maybe?
Matthias
Frolik
Bruunstrom
Sorry, that's all i got from the top of my head.
From what i know, Voracek looks pretty promising and seems to be getting top 6 forward minutes, making the most of his chances.

On a complete side note, this deal just went down in my hockey league, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one that thinks its complete highway robbery: Marc Savard for Johan Franzen.

One guy that is a sleeper in many drafts is Kris Letang. I think that guy could be a big time steal this year. Tons of pp in Pittsburgh, and way down on most draft charts due to not huge production last year.

Yea I totally agree with this since Gonchar and Whitney are both out for extended periods of time.

What about an enforcer (PIM). Who is the CARCILLO guy? He lead the league last year. Does he look like a good candidate for this year?
Seems to be playing a bunch in Phoenix.

Absolutely, if Letang IS available, I would consider him over Seabrook. Letang will be the top d-man on the PP in Pittsburgh (until Gonchar and Whitney return). He could put up good numbers...40-50 pts might be reasonable.

I don't think Carcillo will have as many mins as he did last year. He went nuts in some games and was a dream to have in a pool that counts PIM's.
Gretzky has said that he sees him as a 30 goal guy, so it will be interesting to see if he settles down a bit.
I'd still take him though - although I don't think he was really an enforcer. most of his PIM's were misconducts cause he would lose his mind.
one PIM guy I've been keeping my eye on is David Clarkson in Jersey. He has some offence skills, and can drop them when needed. Think he had around 185 points.
If you're looking for a guy that draws a lot of penalties and can score. I'd go with Carcillo or even Sean Avery

Am I confused? I thought the post was for help getting a d-man. Carcillo, Avery and Clarkson are forwards.
Also, I thought Ovechkin won the Art Ross. Pretty sure Clarkson didn't have 185 pts...maybe 183 PIMs.
Let me know if I am off base.

Well you are and youre not.
i posted my reply to the poster that asked about enforcers (i even quoted it) thats why i was talking about Clarkson, Carcillo,Avery
I definitely did make a mistake and put pts instead of PIMs. I doubt Clarkson is anywhere near 183 career points. Thanks for pointing that out

I like Paul Martin - I expect him to put up more points this season. He's really NJ's #1 dman now.
