It was on some random American channel here in Ottawa, at 7 pm EST (5 MST).
I was surprised it was on so early, too.
Edit: I just checked. It was Global Maritimes

The Office was awesome.. I was curious how this season would start after the last one was terrible.
Toby's short scene was hilarious as usual. I miss him.

Yep, good call on Worst Week. Quite funny. The lead guy is hilarious and adorable. I hadn't even heard of this show at all, so glad people suggested it in this thread.

Yeah pretty much agree. As for the storyline, if it becomes all about a relationship between Bill (vampire) and Sookie (mind reader) I think I'll ditch the show. I have heard that the books are great, so we'll see.
Next up, Dexter.

Good first episode from The Office. I hope Amy Ryan sticks around for a while, she is hilarious.
But they really need to get rid of Dwight. Rainn Wilson is not funny to me in the slightest. The definition of a one-trick pony. He's been over-playing the same gag since the show started, and weighs everyone else down. They should let him have a spin-off so it can die a 5-episode death, and The Office will be 1000 times better for it.

Over-playing the same gag is not Rainn's fault, it's the writers. Frankly, they need him in the office. There must be balance to the other funny people. Half the reason people watch as well is because they can relate to some of the characters in the show and dealing with someone like Dwight is similar to them.

personally i really like dwight's character. he is funny in his own way. just like the micheal character, he often has to come off as mean. the dynamic that he has with jim is just too important to the show to even consider such a thing.
fyi - amy ryan is only around for 6 episodes. i am pretty sure thats why they have already started a backstory with toby, so that he can get his old job back. while i would love to have any around, in a way i would hate to see a third office love story.

I haven't watched the Simpsons in years, but maybe I'll tune in tonight to see what it's about these days.
Dexter is also tonight, but most of you know that already. I am trying to catch up with Season 2 on DVD right now. Lila is freaking sexy

Yeah, 20th season premier of the Simpsons tonight. Anyone else still watch that show? I sort of gave up on it a few years ago but I'll give it a shot tonight. If it's no good, I probably won't watch it again this season.
Also, since I remember the first premier of this show vividly, I am now officially old.

I am looking forward to it. I am sorta like you, in that I watched, but in recent seasons have lost some interest. But I have recently bought seasons 1 through 10 on dvd, so it's revived my interest in the series. I will be watching tonight.

Anyone catch the premiere of Knight Rider? I downloaded it just to see if it was worth it. Besides a couple hot girls the show does not have a single redeeming quality... it was really bad. I would be shocked if it makes even 13 episodes.

Yeah, it was really kinda painful. What really bugged me was how the main character was always kinda look at me I'm so damn cool, don't you wanna be/sleep with me? Gah.

There were a few laughs. That leprechaun is always funny. After that it went downhill.
I'm not going to come up with something like "proof" or "examples" of this, but that stupid gag with the dink cake flying in the window and landing on Skinner's table sort of sums the show up. They make up the most elaborate, time-consuming scenario to justify some dumb gag that in itself doesn't even turn out funny.
Like a writer said "hmm, a naughty cake catching someone by surprise would be good, how do we do it?" and the other writer says "I can't think of anything, let's just make it fly in the window and have Chalmers close his eyes so we don't have to explain it".

Dragons Den on CBC premiered tonight, for any interested. Not sure if its aired in the West yet, but thought I would give it a mention here.
