Anyone know any scouts or familiar with their work?
I'm in my last year at the U and in one my classes I need to design an interface for a new product. I've always been interested in what applications scouts use to compile information when they're on the road for 200+ days of the year. It seems more interesting than a typical client/server type application.
I would need to conduct a few email interviews with the person over the next few months. The questions would mainly be about their routine tasks that they perform electronically or would like to perform electronically. I don't need any insider information.
Ideally I would like to talk to a scout but even if you work with a scout and are familiar with how they operate, I would be interested in speaking further.
Thanks!

All I know is that they have to be good at knots and starting fires without matches.
You did mean boy scouts right?

Too bad you asked today. Yesterday there were a bunch of scouts at the prospects game in Camrose, and could have definitely helped you out. I expect much of the same guys will be there tonight as well.
Any CP'ers brave enough to go ask? I met Darryl Sutter last night and got some photos with him, so the scouts were a little low on my list. However, Jamie McLennan was a pretty personable guy.

I know that the Scouts lack the heavy artillary support to really push their numbers advantage over the Girl Guides.

Any sport scout would do although I suspect hockey scouts would be easier to find around these parts.
Thanks for the link flames_fan13. A lot of information is packed into those screens but is it really a good interface to use?

I haven't used it in a while, and not sure if I still can since it was part of the course but i found it pretty easy to use and wasn't buggy at all, allowed you to grade on many aspects of the game for each player and enter stats.
i'll see test it out again later tonight when i have more time

My roomie has a scout uniform, which he wears to the bar. Whether he is/was ever a scout, I don't really know...

That and their organization is overrun by the female scourge.
CaptainCrunch is, to this day, the only male Girl Guide ever.....

That is all kinds of creepy. I hope they check his ID. Whats with you and scouts?

Love hockey, love football even more. My roomie is a former football player in the US who is dating a former junior hockey player from here (Oil and Leaf fans though).
This is a sports crazy house, except we do it with flair. Last Super Bowl we didn't have wings and beer, but fresh roasted turkey with a nice aioli and apple garnish on homemade sourdough, served with elderflower citrus martinis.

Reason: Roomie sez it was elderflower not elderberry

Well that completely shatters my vision of gay people. I just can't picture a house full of gay people, sitting around cheering on the home team in front of the old big screen, but doing it all gayly.
