Guinness is my staple beer.
Nut brown ales of any stripe are probably my favourite genre.
I also have an affinity for corn-based beers - Duchesse de Bourgogne being a good example.
Lagers are boring, but Heineken or Stella tend to be solid examples of their kind.
It's a shame we westerners don't have The Beer Store like they do in Ontario. What a great idea that joint is.

While on vacation in the Northern Minnesota i had a chance to taste Bud Light Lime. Love the stuff but have been unable to find it in Calgary or High River.
Other than that if prefer anything from Big Rock breweries.

Cool, just checked out their website, looks pretty intriguing. Do you have a particular fave?

In terms of the micro's Peak Brewery has some good stuff - though I haven't had it in quite some time - and don't even know if they are around still.
Good labels too.

We're still talking about unibroue right?
If so then here's my breakdown:
La fin du Monde: Spicy yet fruity taste, pretty highly carbonated. The lightest of the three main beers.
Maudite: the middle on in terms of darkness. Little milder flavour than La fin du monde but a slightly heavier taste to it. Probably because it is darker, not quite as crisp as La fin du Monde
Trois Pistole: Darkest of the 3 IIRC. Can't remember much about this one.
Blanche du Chambly: the only one that has a normal alcohol % i think. Similar to La fin du monde.
Ephermere: they come in the big bottles (singles) with a cork in them. They have apple and raspberry flavours. Pretty light beer with only a slight fruit flavour, unlike say fruili or Aprikat which both really taste a lot like the fruits in them.
There are a few more that are pretty readily available in Calgary depending on the store.
For individual ratings on the beers go to www.beercritic.ca and sort by country (Canada) then click on Unibroue and it'll bring up all their beers.
And it appears I may have been wrong it says Sapporo in brackets next to Unibroue so they might own it not Sleeman

And thank your lucky stars. With respect to Dion, who appears to enjoy it, I'd rather take the "taste test" referred to earlier in the thread than drink this. I guess some folks like it, too much sugar lime syrup nastiness for me. More than one makes my stomach turn.
That said, New Belgium beers are almost all good. Most people only know Fat tire, but Trippel and 1554 are great as well. Boddingtons is always tasty, as is Sierra Nevada. Flying Dog brewery here makes some great beers too, particularly their Pale Ale.
Overall my preference would be any good Pale Ale. Mmmmmm, hops. I had Kilkenny cream ale in BC when I was younger, loved it, and cannot get it ordered here in the states.
Azure, you want to ship anything to Denver?
Maybe you all can all tell me if it's crap, but I once had a Canadian brew here called Kold and rather enjoyed it. I assume it's a mass produced beer.

Well, at the moment I am drinking Grasshopper. I really like wheat ales. Wild Rose I have liked lately, except for the IPA. Okanagan Springs have some good beers too.
If I were to buy some mass produced, preserved beer, I'd go for Kokanee.

I heard that comment a lot when i was Stateside. It seems Americans are evenly split on that beer. I also tried the Miller Chill and found it to have a cardboard taste. I sure wish we had your beer prices in Canada.

I've talked to a lot of liquor store owners and they say there's been a huge demand for the stuff. lol One guy told me to pour some lime juice in my beer.

Seems so. I've seen in threads past that bar prices are nuts up there. I've not been back home since I really started drinking. I'm guessing you would be slightly envious of the average price of about 3.00 a pint here for your standard domestics, yeah? And the awesome 4 bucks for a PBR and shot of Beam deal.

Europe has also spoiled me. Spent a year in the Netherlands for a year in the same small town as the Grolsch Brewery. Good times, and it's my favourite beer sentimentally.

Not only the price of a pint but the 2 for the price of one happy hour prices are awesome. Then there's a flat of 24 that one takes home. When i head to Minnesota to spend time with my bro and his wife i drink a ton of beer while i'm there. If i'm driving there and back i make sure to bring a flat home with me.

I'm pretty sure that's a Big Rock brew out of Calgary.

Indeed it is - or was anyways.
Not sure if they are still brewing it - they certainly aren't marketing much and it doesn't appear to be on their site at all anymore. And when I think about - haven't seen it on shelves - I think it's gone.
KOLD was the first beer that Big Rock actually devoted a mass marketing campaign towards and it didn't work that well. Wasn't a bad beer but was counter to what their brand was about and most loyal Big Rock drinkers didn't care for it, and non-Big Rock drinks didn't think it was any better than whatever lager they currently enjoyed.
Big Rock for all their success has actually only been able to really market successfuly two brands - Grasshopper and Trad, though Warthog could be argued is a third success, though not as much.
Their efforts to expand their market with other lines, to my knowledge, hasn't really worked.
