There's what, 3 billion people in the world. I would hate to live in a world where everyone delt with everything the exact same. Sure, some comments are a little over the edge, some people go the other way and pretend it never happened. Neither is wrong, and if it helps you cope, either is right.

As far as I'm concerned, if life can end as random and sparatic as what happened on the bus, I don't think there's anyone in their right mind who can tell me how to live my life, or how I must react to such news.

I personally have stayed away from talking about it with people. I know it happened, and I don't think it would deter me from ever getting on a Greyhound Bus (I actually enjoy going out to Kamloops on the bus on a 10 hour trip).

There's sickos out there, and the ones that make the jokes aren't even as close as the ones who create the situations, such as the Greyhound issue, that the jokes are made about.

...and you're one of them. You enjoy the 10 hour ride to Kamloops on the bus? Are you out of your fataing mind?

I tell you what, I took the Greyhound to Vancouver years ago (because for employees it was free) and that 16 hour drive almost drove me homocidal too.

I think it's important to consider your audience as well. Amongst a small group of friends is one thing, but on a message board read by thousands of people every day...

How do we know that the victim's brother isn't a Flames fan and doesn't visit this board every once in a while? Would any of you guys want to be the one cracking a joke about some guy getting his head chopped off last week... when his brother is one of the people you're telling it to?

I know I wouldn't.

...as for what we personally consider funny... it's like that Garth Brooks song: I don't do things to change the world, I do things so the world doesn't change me.

I rather like that I am still offended by violence.

Now, you gotta ask yourself: was it poor spelling, a freudian slip or just to lighten the blow a little?

I'll let my therapist decide.

Yikes...not even close.

There was some sort of concensus realeased a couple weeks ago...its over 6.6 billion right now give or take a 100 million or so.

just wanted to correct that...back to the topic at hand.

I think, once you head down the path of the homocidal, there is nothing "lightened" about blows.

I can actually sympathize a little with the attaker. I can see how it probably went down. He was sitting at the bar the night before, having drinks with some buddies and talking about how dreadful the long bus ride would be. Then one of his buddies probably said "hey man, you know what makes those trips seem a lot shorter? You just need to get a little head along the way eh eh?"

But seeing as the guy was a recent immigrant to Canada, something unfortunitly got lost in translation.
