I can't understand any kind of fascination with button flys, too combersome, and you can't show them off to other people anyway.

most of mine are buttons, though really, i don't care too much. as long as the fly closes up, i'm good with it.

I like the look of a button fly on a man. Makes their package look better? Anyhew... zipper for me.

I agree with the guys who say button fly's died in the early 90's, what a pain, i haven't seen them in ten years.

I understand why some guys like the buttonfly, I just don't like it, still feels a little too open for me. I find the zipper suits me fine.
Also, I know Armani, Hilfiger and Diesel all still make the usual zipper jeans, so its not like one has to be buttoned up to be in style.

Have not worn zipper jeans for a long time but that's because the brands I wear are usually button. I'm used to it. Less "TENTING" and less zipper falling down or forgetting to do up syndrome.
Also great to release when you are eating too much at restaurant haha

For me its a toss up.
The last gf I had said she prefered button fly when we went clothes shopping. I could go either way. I have noticed on my more pricier jeans the button fly dominates. On my not so expensive ones the zipper dominates.

I have now reached a point in my life where I have a hard time buying jeans because so few seem to have button flys, and they're just so much better than zippers.
Points for the button fly:
1. Don't do that ridiculous 'tenting' thing that zipper flys do;
2. No chance of genital snaggage;
3. Allow for open and pants-drop in one smooth motion;
4. No risk of getting stuck on fabric, leading to embarrassing situations of having to struggle with crotch while in men's room;
5. No risk of zipper handle breaking off, leading to aforesaid embarrasing situations;
6. Strangely comfier than zipper jeans, but maybe that's just me.
Button fly all the way. It's the one thing from the nineties I'm glad to have back - even beyond the Spice Girls.

I only recently got some button-fly jeans, and because they were free I chose to wear them even though I totally thought the button-fly was the gayest thing ever (in the old school, jr. high sense of the word).
Now I just don't care. I don't see myself passing up some perfectly good clothes because of the aesthetic of the fly. And if other people want to stare at my crotch that long...well, don't get an eye poked out.

Zipper all the way for a few reasons:
1) Buttons are for chicks, If you're not Awmish, a 14 year old from 1995, or it isn't the 19th centry, the zipper is the clear choice
2) When was the last time a chick had to fumble around in the dark to try to open a zipper? How bout a bunch of unexpected buttons? Zipper is the clear winner on this one.
3) Sneakiness. Sometimes you've just got to get your junk out discretely and there's no way for this to happen unless you undo all the buttons. Not so with a zipper. It just gives you an extra level of flexibility that buttons lack.

I don't think you've thought this through.
1) 'Buttons are for Chicks'. I guess you don't ever wear suits.
2) 'Fumbling 'Chicks''. If Buttons are for 'chicks', shouldn't they be pretty good with them? Also, I've never had sex without fumbling. It never happens. There is always a fumble. Can you tear open a zipper? Because you can tear apart something fastened with Buttons, and that is hot. You also don't have metal teeth near your cacknnuts.
3) 'Sneakiness'. Ok Flasher McChildren, How do you discreetly undo a fly? It opens from the top. It pretty much has to be fully open to get the kind of access you'd need for something discreet, whatever weird activity that might be. Buttons open from wherever you'd like them to. You can open the bottom two. The middle two. The top 2 if you've just had 4 baconnators and need some extra digesting real-estate. I can have a visit to the local Swiss Chalet and leave with the top button undone without fear of my pants falling down. That's freedom you can usually only get from suspenders.
I'd rather be considered 'gay' in the jr. high sense of the word that nip myself even once with the Jaws of Life.

Zipper all the way. I don't care if expensive pants have buttons. I like my pants like my women: cheap and easy to get into.

Dude, you're wrong on all counts.
Face it, the button fly is the Tighty Whities of pant fastening technology.
