At least Adam Lind looks to have found his stroke again. Still with a 48-50 record on the season they'd need to do something like 44-20 from here on just to get a sniff of a playoff spot.

And the Jays are in last place in the AL East in tomorrow's papers. What a brutal team. I feel sorry for some of the guys who come out to play every night.

Pretty sad state of affairs. they looked to be turning the corner a few weeks ago and then when they actually have a chance to make a push they fall flat on their faces. Don't know why I expected more, this has been the story for way too long.
Sure glad hill isn't out there playing through a concussion for this.

Man has Litsch ever been bad! What is he like 1-9 since going 7-1? Players I would like to see stay: Rolen, Scutaro, Barajas, Rios. Players I would like to see leave: Overbay, Eckstein, Rios.

So what are your thoughts on Rios?

Yeah, Litsch is just getting lit up right now. Teams have seen him enough to know what they need to look for to hit him hard. Of course that offence doesn't exactly strike fear into anyone these days either. The rate they're going at the 77-85 record I predicted for them is looking like a long shot.

His stuff is terrible; it actually always has been. I honestly don't know how he started off 7-1 with his meaty flutterballs. I was so excited for him too....

Those things just hang over the plate. Especially the one after he hurt his foot.

Yep, the shocking part is JP has not brought in anyone that can help this team from an offensive point of view.
Wilkerson / Mench acquistions have failed brutually. Wilkerson is fine defensively but the guy can't hit.
Matt Stairs is starting to show his age, he has really struggled the last while... He is another guy that should be released.
Jays are lucky they picked up Scutaro, he seems to be producing a fair amount of the RBI's. Not to mention he has played allot of position this year (3rd, SS, 2nd, 1st, LF).
Will be interesting if JP can trade off a few players for prospects... at the July 31st trade dead-line... However I bet JP makes no trades, and comments " I really believe this club can turn around this season".....

Yeah, the Jays have taken that Maple Leafs Blue Print and figured out how to follow it to a Tee.

what do you expect from a 40 year old? And he's cheap. Yes, his batting average is down a little, but they're also playing him way too much. He succeeded last year because he had a lot of rest on the bench. Pretty embarassing that he's tied with Wells for the team lead with a pathetic 9 home runs.
the rest of your post I agree with wholeheartedly.

What a wild game so far tonight. Johnny Mac misses a grand slam by a few feet, Marcum has a tough night, and Lind has hit a 3-run shot to give the Jays a 9-7 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th.
This one ain't over yet.........

The guy is getting paid to produce, for Stairs to stay the guy has has to hit HRs and has to get RBI's. Of which he has struggled....
As for playing him to much the guy is a full time DH... Not sure how that tires him out....
In my opinion he has to go, JP should find a way to trade him for future considerations...

Yep Ryan struggled for sure, on the positive side... It was great to see Johnny Mac get 4 RBIs not to mention seeing Lind go 4 for 5.

Well hopefully Cito realizes that Lind is the best hitter he has right now, especially with guys on base. Put him at the clean-up spot for while, see how he does, sportsnet had a graphic showing Lind's run production was near the top of the AL since his recall.

The Jays finish off last night's rain-delayed game and beat the Orioles 5-1.
They're current up 3-0 in the top of 4 in the finale.
Litsch got demoted to AAA. Purcey was recalled. The move makes a lot of sense - I don't think Litsch has had a decent outing in 2 months. He gets beat around for at least 5-6 runs every outing now.
Oh yeah, Adam Lind is a stud. 2-2 already in the second game. It's absolutely hilarious that our best hitter was in the minors until June 20th. That basically justifies the Gibbons firing right there.

Pretty sure that's JP's call, not Gibby's.
And in his defense, would Lind have been better off playing a platoon for us with Stewart/Stairs/Wilkerson/Mench/Scutaro/Inglett and whomever else has played OF for us this year.

Jays running up the score: 6-0, runners on the corners, 0 out, top of the order coming up (and Lind is 3-3)
I like that MLB applet
