Just getting rid of that can help quite a bit.
That alone would cut 1200-1500 calories per day from your diet.

You can't spot reduce. Meaning there is no special diet that will take off belly fat.

But, just so you know....the kind of fat that you develop by getting a pot belly has a higher health risk than people who gain fat all over their body. Talk to your doctor about it, for stop drinking so much Pepsi.

Or at least switch to diet.

Speaking of the Pepsi, keep in mind you don't have to cut it out entirely, just cut down.

Start buying the 8 ounce cans, and restrict yourself to 2 cans per day. I used to drink a lot of Coke, and now the 8 ounce can seems to be enough for me.

9:00 Non fat cottage cheese mixed with low fat yogurt
11:00 reduced sodium tuna with low cal salad dressing
1:00 Protein shake
3:00 Bowl of spinach with low cal salad dressing
5:00 Protein Bar
5:30-7:30 workout
7:30 Recovery shake

That’s what I do it works for me

Oh my God!! Like others have mentioned, skip the Pepsi and I think you'll do just fine. I'm shocked that the only problem you have is a slight pot belly.

One tip that I use when I get a sugar craving. Chew sugarless gum. It only has 3 calories a piece and 1 gram of sugar alcohol.

i'll eat stuff like that occasionally, but a reason why I workout and stay active is so that I can eat whatever I want

10 cans of pepsi = 1500 calories. You cut that out and you'll lose almost 1/2 a pound per day. If you find yourself in caffeine withdrawal, drink a BIT of coffee to ease the pain.

Did you set that up on Vitabot? Or did you come up with that yourself? Out of curiosity, how many cals, grams of protien, carbs and fat is that? I'm no expert but the carbs look pretty low.

Wow, that's pretty much insane. 10 cans of Pepsi a day? I feel bad if I have half a glass of Pepsi a days

Right now when I wake up, I jog half a mile and do weights for a few minutes before work. I'm not eating properly though.

I just came up with it myself, it’s low card low fat high protein diet

And It’s relatively inexpensive but in terms of the details of it I have no idea what the specifics are, I could figure it would if I wanted too but meh

It’s not so bad really, and I should add that is only week days weekends I eat whatever I want, just not too much of it

Not just diet, exercise.

I read from two independent sources (One was Men's Health magazine, can't remember the other one) that studies have shown a specific interval workout in cardio (running, fast walking, eliptical, etc.) burns fat better than anything else thus far.

The workout they specified was this...3 times a week, do this workout:

- do a 5 minute warmup
- do 2 mins of intense cardio (70%-100% of perceived exersion, with 100% being ALL OUT), followed by 1 minute of slower cardio to recover
- repeat until you have done 5 of these intense intervals
- do a 5 minute cool down

Your body will be burning fat far longer afterwards than if you did 45-60 mins of cardio at a moderate intensity.

Buy a bicycle.

I quit smoking almost two years ago now and the bike is what helped. First week or so I was useless, but within even a month I could easily power up the 36th ave hill from Elbow Drive to 14th Street SW in under a minute. 17th ave up the 14th street hill to 36th in about three minutes.

I once made it from Marda Loop to friggin McKenzie lake in 30 minutes!

Bottom line, I cannot think of a more enjoyable way to get fit. Wicked cardio, adventures while working out/getting around, looks of envy/respect from people who see you powering it!

Honestly man, nothing felt better than the day I made it up that hill without breaking the first time, only to roll to the bottom and do it again right away for kicks. Huge sense of accomplishment!

Yeah.

Thats basically a form of HIIT. Very effective, but not something everyone can do.

Everyone should though.

Where the hell do you guys find the time for this exercise? Seriously.

I mean, I get some at work....low impact cardio most days for an hour or so. Once in a while it's a lot more. I drink pop like diss does. I once quit drinking pop for an entire year and I gained weight...so to say simply swearing off pop will result in weight loss is a fallacy IMO. BTW...diet pop is bad for you too. There was a study recently that theorizes that aspartame causes the body to store excess fat.

I don't have time for more exercise or to be too intense about what I eat. I'm almost resigned to being overweight permanently.

For the record, low cholesterol levels and blood pressure for me.

Make time to exercise. If you're all about the studies, well, every SINGLE study done on exercise has shown it to be beneficial.

And its not about dropping the pop, and you'll automatically drop fat. Point is that 10 cans of Pepsi per day is 1500 calories extra per day, not to mention the insane amount of carbs, sugar and sodium. Stop drinking that pop, and you stop taking into 1500 unhealthy calories per day.

If you're worried about being overweight, or having a pot belly, well not drinking Pepsi or any other pop THAT much, would help.

Also, there is no reason you have to be intense about what you eat. I don't count every calorie, nor do I plan out my meals. I just try to make healthy choices. And not eat as much.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to justify drinking pop. I will make an effort to stop. I don't think my post read that way though.

It's tough to make time to exercise when you work 55 hours a week. Trust me.
