6-1 Jays. My new favourite Jay Joe Inglett with some clutch two out hittting with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, Alex Rios closing out the inning with a strike out looking completely disinterested at the plate. Anyways 2/3 of the order are on all cylinders today, while Rios, Overbay and Eckstein are doing next to nothing.

Jays looking somewhat resilient in this game breaking the game open again to a 9-5 lead. Vernon being Vernon with some great hitting with 3 RBI this game. B.J. Ryan in to close it up. 2 out top of the ninth.

Nice rebound win for the Jays. Man, they sure look like they are starting to come around at the plate. The game before follows in suit with Baseball philosophy that states good pitiching beats good hitting. Jurrjens was philthy.
Now if the Jays keep seeing Inglett hit like this what do they do with Hill? Maybe this outburst is enough to merit a little trade interest. Now we could package Burnett and Inglett for something. Maybe some prospects? I would kill for a couple of minor league advanced bats right about now from the ss or 1b positions, and couple of pithers that Billy Beane seemingly always acquires.
John Parrish was dealing today. He could, supposing he keeps this newfound nastiness up, lessen the impact of losing an alleged power arm like Burnett's. Also, it's the 2nd lefty they have had start this year. I like the outcome and hope it becomes a trend(in that there are more left-handed starts).
I would like to remain optimistic about this season, but unless we see a new found jolt of power in the line up, I feel we'll be drafting around 10th next year.

AJ Burnett with likely his best start of the season.
Pitches 7 solid innings with no runs allowed, only four hits, and 11 (ELEVEN!!) strikes.
Jays win 1-0 to win the series against the Braves.
Oh, and Downs has now pitched 26 scoreless innings, best current streak in the MLB.

sounds like we missed a beauty. Good on Burnett to start picking it up. Rios has also looked better of late.

On the highlights they showed Cito sitting with Rios on the bench. Then they show his next at bat where Rios pulled it down the line for the only RBI of the game.
It would be curious to know how the clubhouse dynamic has changed.

Watched the 1-0 game, and it was a beauty. AJ pitched very well, mixing his curveball and changeup pretty well with his 94-96 fastball. Had many batters well off balance.
Rios' first at bat during the game was down right pitiful. 3 pitch strikeout with a feeble swing on the second strike and stood there looking at strike 3. After Cito's chat, he came out a drove the ball hard (for a line out) in his next at bat and then doubled (and advanced to 3rd on the throw) to bring in the RBI. Even his next at bat was much better.
Who said coaching wasn't the problem again? Cito and Tenace (who spent part of the game talking to Wells) have worked magic. Even Leyva has been great with his go/no-go decisions at 3rd. Too bad they waited so long.

I don't watch much baseball but I do pay attention. It seems like every player in the Jays lineup started picking up since Gibbons got fired. I am actually glad Gibbons got fired because i never really think he can coach. He is too hard on the players and he takes some stuff personal. I hope the Jays keep up and maybe guys like AJ Burnett, and other underachieving players will start to play a lot better.

6 complete games, a 4 hit shoutout victory. Roy Halliday rules. That is all.

Man am I happy to see some intra-competion between the pitching staff. Marcum, arguably this years most consistent starter, goes down for a brief stint on the dl and then Parrish picks up a nice win in his return to the show. Which is in turn followed by the return of Burnett's curveball(long overdue) which precipitates a gem of a 7 hit shutout. Then, Roy the king of our hill Halladay, goes off on the worst team in the majors with a 4 hit shutout.
I love this type of momentum, it may be the type of intra-squad competition that see's the staff looking to outshine his counterpart from the previous starts.
But Habernac, yeah he does rule, six complete games wtf? There are several teams in the show that have not even half that number as an entire rotation. He is zoned in right now. Let's hope that the hitting woes are a thing of the past and they put together a run and make it interesting again.
PS, Cito Gaston is a godsend. Sorry gibby, but you just don't have the moxy of Cito. I think Cito is the tonic for the jays' hitters' shaky mental makeups.

Another brutal base running mistake by VW. The guy just doesn't seem to keep his head in the game. For the guy that's supposed to be the leader of this club that's unacceptable.

Bases loaded, zaun hits a line drive over the SS. Instead of advancing to 3rd, VW goes back to 2nd and gets thrown out at 3rd.

Lind is 3-3 with 3 RBIs. Nice game!
Wells..all he needed to do was look at the left fielder and see that he could advance. Instead, he put his head down and scrambled back to 2nd, thinking it would be a line-out.
Ah well. 6-2 Jays. 1 out in the 6th.
