im not going to get into the wether or not kokanee sucks or not because i know my opinion on it (yum)
But I want the ranger to live because he has entertaining commercials. Do we really need another brand of generic hot chicks in cowboy hat commercials?
You guys are going to tear me apart for that one.....
^^ Sort of on this note, but sorta not, what is going on with all these "camps," like Bud Camp and Axe summer camp and that kind of thing? Are you guys interested in going to this type of thing, out of curiousity? It just seems like most male oriented products have some kind of camp nowadays...

A free weekend in a resort and free booze is not something I'd likely turn down, but those commercials make it look like some sort of sex farm with sex hookers with all the giggling and "wild times" and hot babes running down the fairway.
My guess is that it's a bunch of beer-contest schlubs enjoying a 48 hour sausage party with a some bored, paid "model" types who serve drinks and glance at the clock every few seconds.
As far as the major domestic brands go, Bud is the only one that tastes consistent. Kokanee and Canadian are so wildly inconsistent that I pretty much refuse to buy either brand anymore. Sometimes they taste great, other times they taste like something that leaked from a sick animal's anus.
Bud, like it or not, always tastes the same.
Personally, I drink Bud and Keith's. Sometimes I have a hankering for some Euro beer and I'll get a Stella.
I gotta agree with 4x4, bud tastes the same no matter what. It's definitely a camping beer because even when you run out of ice it's drinkable. Canadian even semi-luke-warm is freaking disgusting, whereas bud is bearable.
On our hockey team, everyone brings Kokanee when it's their turn, and we never have these kinds of conversations. Everyone just drinks the beer and enjoys it, you never hear anyone complain that the taste is inconsistant, or that they feel like they're drinking straight from their own dink. But I guess us beer leaguers are a simpler folk.
I'm proud to say that I haven't had a Kokanee in over a decade, and I expect to die before consuming another.
I like ambers and porters as a rule. My favourite is McEwans Scotch Ale, and I tend to prefer mostly what I buy in the UK: Theakston's Old Peculiar and Wychwood's Hobgoblin are both very good. When I was in Olympia this past weekend, I had a great porter from Deschutes Brewery in Oregon.

looks like the ranger is done, I saw an ad on tv last night at the end of which he gets hit by a bus then it says in memory of the kokanee ranger 2002-2008. tried to go to the rangerliveordie site but they make you sign up to see the site now, no chance of that i'm far too lazy and hate kokanee.
but thought i'd let the good folks on CP know and I can either get confirmation or correction.
