Need help, or I'm a bad father!

So my kid's birthday is coming up in a few weeks.. He's totally into Mario (yay I'm a positive role model, well a role model anyway).
My wife's making a star cake for him and I want to put a little Mario figure on it, but I can't seem to find one.

Any ideas on where I might find one in town? I tried that one store in Marlborough by Walmart.

If I don't have one them my kid will hate mario for the rest of his life and I'll be a failure as a parent.

BTW this is the cake I told my wife to make, she didn't seem to find it funny:

Will any short, fat, pipefitting Italian in coveralls do, or does it have to be Mario?
I'd try to fake it if I were you. Cardboard cutout FTW.

Either that, or beat him to the punch by revoking your love first.

You might try that little store in Marlborough around the corner from the Walmart. They have lots of little action figures that would work. Barring that, the only other place I know that might carry something like what you're after is the comic book store in Northland - if it's even still there.
My child had a crush on Pokemon - those are the two places I managed to find little action figures.

Nope, not there anymore. Moved out. What about just trying a toy store?

There's a chinese store in Chinatown that sells alot of these PVC collectibles. It's in that strip mall, directly across from the Harry Hay's building on the chinatown side.

Yeah I was going to start calling around to some of the comic stores tomorrow. I tried a few toy stores with no dice.
Awesome link CMPunk, I don't think I've got time to get one in in time ordering online, but I may order some stuff there anyway
The cardboard cutout is actually a great idea, he won't care about the difference anyway, that's my fallback.

And those mushroom cookies look awesome.

You could try calling Redd Skull (230-2716). There were some available to order a while back (in the Previews magazine). I don't think they have any in stock, but the owner there (Kelly) is usually pretty helpful and might be able to order one in for you.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think these were the ones available to order before http://www.geekalerts.com/mario-coll...vinyl-figures/
or maybe it was these ones... http://www.entertainmentearth.com/pr...umber=MR78112A

Try Crossroads market. There are a few booths there where people are selling older toys. You might be able to find one of those classic McDonalds Super Mario 3 toys.

Heh, my kid doesn't like McDonalds food actually, so we almost never go there.
