The large tornado touched down less than 5 miles from our house.
I have several people that work for me who had severe property damage to their houses (blown out and shattered windows, roof damage, hail damage to their vehicles) etc...no power, no water, no phone service, no mobile phone coverage.
I was at work when it hit, again about 5 miles from where it touched down, and even with the backup power and UPS systems, we had at least 10 major power loss events, which meant for an interesting/long day.
Lots of people are still searching for their pets and the Red Cross shelter had to be moved to because their location was one of the 60,000 that had no power. They had restored power yesterday to all but 15,000 homes and businesses.

That was near Hennessey, OK which is about 100 miles southwest of me.

I drove south on the I-25 on the morning of the 23rd. Saw some damage like you mentioned along the way just before Ft. Collins.
