Any word on Tops Pizza closure? (Varsity Pizza)
Hey,
I know there are a few old Tops Pizza kids around here, does anyone know why they have been closed for so long?
I first tried going about 3 weeks ago and they had a sign up saying something like "Sorry, closed due to unexpected family emergency"
But they are still closed weeks later?
Any word? Are Maria and Jim (and kids) okay? They have been so good to me, if there was anything i could do for them i know i (and many others) would be there in a heartbeat!?
Claeren.

Tops Pizza?
You mean the pizza and sub shop on Varisity Dr and Shaganappi? Didn't realize they were closed. They shut down for a week or two each year for holidays, but I did not know about this.

^ Yeah, exactly.
At first when i saw the piece of paper in the window i thought they had left for vacation early or something this year (it is usually the first 2 weeks of August right? Or July?) and then i get out to check for sure (because i really needed a Tops-sub fix!) and it was as i said, a family emergency sign.... ?
SOMEONE around cpuck must have some idea? CP knows alll ?
On the otherhand i don't mean to pry either, but being closed for a day or two is one thing and being closed for weeks and weeks is entirely another IMO. It is a family run institution in this city - we are supposed to care? If that family business is closed i assume so is their income stream? I have bought enough (fantastic and) incrediably well/fairly priced pizza and subs that if they needed anything i would like to help (not that i even have that much to give, but...)

Yeah they had wicked subs. I used to live about a 5 minute walk from there.

A great family run business in this city you say?
I propose a CP jihad (?) on the day of their re-opening. Everyone from CP goes in wearing their jersey and buys a large pizza or sub to help the family out.

I was there about a month and a half ago...I agree they are some of the nicest business owners I've ever met. Subs are amazing. I hadn't realized they were even closed.

Me too! I participated in the daily march for grease for only $1.00 a slice too. That place used to get swarmed every noon hour by Junior high kids. Great people working there and I usually made a point of stopping in for a slice whenever I've been in the area ever since.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the kind words and support. I'm one of the daughters and I thought I should update what's going on. We were closed for 3 weeks, but we did reopen this Monday.
My dad had to be taken to the hospital, so we had no choice but to shut down for those 3 weeks. He's home now and doing okay (but super bored), so the girls are going to be running the shop for a while.
Thanks again for the kind words...they mean alot to the whole family. =)

Hey!
That is great to hear! Hope your Dad is back up and working hard, like he seems to love, soon!
Let him know that everyone i talk to was worried and that they are all missing him! I guess all those annoying kids (in this case Vincent-kids) grow up, eh!? lol
I think i'll have to come around extra the next few weeks to make up for all the missed trips!
You and i always chat by the way! haha You probably even know who i am from school eh?
Oh well, thanks for letting us know!
Claeren.
