Oh sure, and then use it to get my food.

Just kidding....I'm not sure yet, heck I'm not even sold on which gun I would buy. Lots of options out there.

Looking at those pictures are pretty damn impressive though.

Another question, where would I buy it?

Not every sports shop is going to sell them obviously.

My father owns everything I need to reload my own rounds. I would just have to buy some .223 dies. I like looking at arfcom to see some of the stuff people build. I have a plain stock A2 with iron sights I don't need any fancy scopes or flashlights on my gun. Not my money they are spending so I won't complain.

Yeah I saw that too....pretty cool.

I have friends who can reload for me....and sell the ammo to me for half the price of what it costs retail.

I do think I'll PM him for his private info in case the zombies ever come. We'll need lots and lots of ammo then.

I'm having enough trouble buying Airsoft guns. I think they are harder to get than real ones.

A common misconception is that all center-fire semi automatic rifles are restricted. This is not true. As a matter of fact the rules governing what makes a weapon restricted seem almost random. Check out the website www.wolverinesupplies.com for more info and excellent firearms selection. Anyways you can actually own an unrestricted 50 cal in Canada or an AR180B-2 which is virtually identical to an AR-15 yet is unrestricted. A CZ 858-2 is a semi-automatic that looks just like an AK-47 (including a 30 shell banana clip that is pinned at 5) but because it is 482mm barrel instead of the standard 390mm they are unrestricted.

Handguns have some peculiar rules as well. A .25 cal and .32 cal are prohibited but .38's .40's .44 magnum's and .45's are only restricted.

Even shotguns are not immune from some strange rules. You are allowed to have a shotgun with 5 shells, but you can only bird hunt with a 3 shot shotgun.

This is completely false. I have several semi auto center fire rifles that are completely non-restricted weapons.

And there's no such classification as unrestricted. It's non-restricted.

The trick to getting a prohibited license is to figure out which restricted or non-restricted firearm will go prohibited next. As said, there are no real rules or specs to determine whether or not they fall into either of the three categories. A few years ago some people I know thought the SKS would go prohibited and they bought them. I have never heard of anyone actually acquiring a prohibited license from the government.
