I bought mine there at about 10:30am, and they only had two left at the time for the PS3. The guy said they sold a lot of copies at the midnight sale, which suprised me considering its a downtown locations.

Just got back from Northland and picked up a special edition for ps3. Bestbuy had a bunch of copies of each version for each system(in the big cage near the cashiers) and you get free fuzzy dice lol. Futureshop had the regulars and Walmart had regulars and a couple 360 special editions. Didn't bother to check eb.

Check, check, check and done. All hooked up and ready to go. I'll add you on but I won't be online til around seven o'clockish. It was surprising straight forward to hook up wireless. I'm (Rhettzky) by the way.

So far so good on my PS3...
The MP server isn't working for me, though.

I'm having no freezing problems and this game is just unbelievable. I am so glad I have two days off left and haven't even tried the MP yet. Definitely recommended. It lives up to the hype.

I was over at EB at Chinook at lunch hour and it was packed so I went down to MacKenzie around supper and it was dead quiet and they had a couple dozen copies left, as soon as I go to pay I swear 15 people came in lining up for a copy. However as happy as I am for getting it my xbox is downstairs in a box ready to ship out tomorrow to go to Microsoft...it's times like these when you need a hug..I want to kill people damn it and pick up hookers.

Whoa, I just got it to work!
Oh damn, never mind. I take that back. I was able to connect to the MP service (finally) and play around for a bit, but then everyone in the game got dumped.
I think the servers are going to be pretty bogged down for the next little while.
(btw - For those with the PS3 version and who don't know how to access the MP stuffs... it's a option on your in-game cell phone. It took me a while to figure it out, but it's there.)

Hope they fix this soon

I picked up a ps3 and have been playing GTA for the better part of 8 hours now. This game is honestly the coolest thing ever developed. I haven't had a single freezing issue but downloading the 2.30 firmware for the ps3 took like 2 hours! It's only 125 mb...I guess nothing is perfect. Ps3 is an awesome machine, I'm glad I picked it over 360. The bluray movies are out of this world on a 1080p tv. wow.

^^^
Not to mention it's compatible with pretty many computer devices and bluetooth. I had not a single freeze problem (knocks on wood) only thing is I couldn't get the MP for GTA to work once last night. Seems like everyone is having the same problem.
The game itself is just amazing. Driving is taking some getting used to and I have yet to shoot a gun in the game (which is odd for GTA after a few hours of game play) but the level of detail is stunning.

3.5 hours in right now and about 10% done the story. So far it's pretty fun. Can't wait till i get more weapons though, only have a pistol, knife (which i lost when i got arrested ), and fists. The story is pretty awesome right now, best VO i've seen in a game for a while.

Yeah, I only played for three hours and most of that time it was bowling with some chick and then a bit of drunk driving followed promptly by a trip to the strip club where I got beat up in the parking lot by the bouncer for jumping on stage. This experience kinda riled me up so I spent the next little bit running over pedestrians.
Side note: How the hell do you get your seat belt on? I seem to keep flying out the windshield when colliding with concrete objects at high speeds. It is kinda neat seeing the old coconut smack off of things at high speeds though.

Haha yes! I have to say the environmental effects in this version of GTA are seriously mind-blowing. Little things like flying through the windshield after a head-on collision, or how when you car-jack sometimes the passenger will stay in the car like a hostage... or the driver will actually grab on to the truck and hang there while you drag him around....
The drunk driving! I was like... oh man, I can't believe they got away with letting people drive drunk in this game! There are going to be some pretty long lineups in the lawsuit aisle after some people get a hold of this .
So. Much. Fun.
