Well maybe I would have liked the Transformer movie more, if the cartoons and the 1st animated movie wasn't 1000000 times better.
Does it really need a 15 minute scene of them sneaking around the guys back yard?? hahaha. The dinobots would have just trampled the whole thing and said "me grimlock" hehe

Im thru defending transformers, I liked it, a lot. Some people didn't. Whatver, although I do agree with Kobatuzzied, that scene where they were outside the house was just ridiculous.

			Star Trek removed.
It has been rescheduled for May 8, 2009 to position it as a summer blockbuster.

I haven't seen it but it has a 35% from critics, 58% from users at Rotten Tomatoes.

It may be just me but there are a lot of blockbuster movies that I want to see this year.
 Indiana Jones
 Hellboy 2
 Iron Man
 The Hulk
 Batman
 The X Files
Bond 22 The Quantum of Solace

And I'm sure there are more that I can't think of at the moment.

I was watching that half hour show they have on HDnet today where they show all sorts of upcoming movie previews, and they had a few good ones on there.
"Step Brothers" with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly looks hilarious, and there was a cop drama/action flick with DeNiro and Pacino as cops that looked decent. Although it wad directed by the same guy who did Pacino's current movie "88 Minutes" which is getting ripped a new a-hole by critics the past week. Also a new one with Seth Rogan, "Pineapple something or other," just caught a second of that one, looked comical.

I forgot about those. Add another three to my list.

Another one I always see on that HDnet is Hancock. That looks pretty funny too.

Hope someone has Get Smart on their list. Man, this movie looks good!
(I used to watch both the actual TV series and Inspector Gadget when I was a kid!)

When I read over Nehkara's initial list, I must've skipped over it, as I didn't realize until about half an hour ago that there's a 3rd The Mummy movie, and its due out August 1st! Although the 2nd one was a bit of a dud(and the prequel Scorpion King is arguably the worst movie I've ever seen in theatres), I always liked the first one, and am still excited for this one. Apparently they're in China now, accidentally awakening an ancient Chinese emporer.
Have they even started advertising for this yet? This is the first I've even heard of it. If not, I don't blame them for waiting. Anything in this genre right now will just get completely overshadowed by Indiana Jones.

This is about as close to a movie thread as I could find.
Didn't want to start a new thread just for one movie but it doesn't seem to be getting a lot of press so I'm going to try and spread the word.

In Bruges This is a fantastic movie (out on DVD, not theatres). Colin Ferrell and Brenden Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes. 'bout 2 hitmen holed up in the little Belgium town of Bruges and they are bored. Not really an action movie, more just quirky yet heartfelt characters interacting for 2 hours. great writing and acting and the story has a nice roundabout way of being resolved.

Roeper put it as #1 of movies so far in 2008 and I totally agree. It is by far the best (maybe not most entertaining compared to Iron Man or Hulk) movie I've seen so far this year.

Have seen the trailer (or a trailer) twice now on other DVD's and it looks great. In my Netflix queue!
