How to tell if speakers are blown?

I know it should seem obvious, but I can't decide if it's a bad connection or a blown mid-range speaker on my home theatre. Not sure if asking here can do any help, but it can't do any harm either.

Blown speakers will crackle at high and low ranges at volume that it could hit before. A bad connection will just have intermittent signal, mono, reduced volume, or crackling when you adjust volume.
