I have shaw cable with the digital tv box and it says record. Im wondering if I can record programs with my VCR?

You can however it can only record the channel that your Shaw box is set to. In other words you can't be recording one channel and watching another. A bit of a pain in the arse.

I take it the screen/menu that says record...if you had a PVR box it would record, for non PVR boxes, it will just set a reminder for you to record.

With the RF bypass not on Shaw boxes, it makes the procedure a whole lot more complicated, and as Jiri said, having to keep the TV on channel 3, the VCR connected, and the shaw box on the station you want to record.

The record function on the Shaw boxes software is made for those Shaw boxes that have PVR funtionality.

How do I record things.

I tried plugging it in but nothing on the blank tape. I have a old digital cable box.


Any help?

I have 2 cords.

One's with the VCR and one's a yellow red white cord. Do I need to plug in both to get the TV program to record.
