 There is no excuse for losing that game. Ottawa repeatedly handed it to the Stamps on a silver platter and the would not take it.

When you are leading the game with under 60 seconds you RUN THE BALL!!!!!

As far as I'm concerned whoever made the call with under 60 seconds to try and pass should be FIRED on the SPOT!

This is the lowest of the low for this team.

Unreal.

I agree 100%. Yes, you have no running game. But as long as you can take 20 seconds each time, you give Ottawa the ball back with under 20 seconds left deep in their zone.

I'm pissed

When your up by 15 with under 3 minutes left you should win no question.

Absolutely brutal. We couldn't stop Ranek with a cannon tonight. Our DB takes a stupid PI call

John Jenkins has to go. this offense dosen't work at all. MAybe Dunnigan should take over the offense.

This was the second game in two weeks that we had no right to lose

Changes have to come

Don't get me wrong, outside of that fumble where Jones was carrying the ball like a loaf of bread, he did a lot of good things.

He put 30 points on the board. We should win with 30 points.

Jesus this is pissing me off

Exactly. Its Football 101. Its not about getting a first down at that point - its about killing time. Kill 40 seconds punt and win the game.

It boggles my mind that a coach (Jenkins from what I understand) could make that call unless they wanted to be fired.

I've been a flames fan for 18 years, as die-hard as they come. Never giving up and watching every game to the bitter end, but even as a Flames fan tonight was to much. this was such a storied franchise, and I know we can't win the grey cup every year, but this is just a freaking joke.

Jenkins is a joke, he says one thing and doesen't do crap about it. I'm stunned, I mean how could we lose a game like that, this is just the worst loss I've ever seen from the Stamps, Dear lord, I don't even know what to say anymore.

OK here we go, this may take hours to release the frustration that I have built up over the last few hours. I feel that I just wasted 3 hours of my time and I'm not too happy with that. The Stampeders deserved to lose this game beacuse of the way they were playing. Here's a breakdown.....

DEFENSE
We have solid players here, our front 7 are amazing, I watched them destory that offensive line at times. Grace was a machine in that first half, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Our secondary.....well you gotta expect this when in the offseason most of your starting secondary is gone and your rebuilding. Fine some growing pains I understand. STill a solid defensive core of players. BUT this defensive co-ordinator seems like a monkey to me. Everything is going real good, untill you have OTT in a 3rd and 23 and your up by 15 points. YOU DON'T BLITZ!!! I don't care what you have to say to me as a reason, you don't f-ing blitz. You drop those 4 linebackers into coverage. Common sense to me isn't it?! Or is the CFL different from the NFL in that aspect of the game. So many times when we had them in a pickle (2nd and longs) we blitz with 2-3 of our linebackers. That last play where Ranek got 40 yards, I saw a linbacker go to blitz, then go back towards Ranek then back to Darnell. Don't blitz when you have them in a long situation and there's not time left in the game. I know you want pressure, but that front 3 is good, they will get some pressure.
When we are so bad against the run, as it seems we are, try switching OUT OF THE 3-4. 3-4 is not as efective against the run IMO only unless you have very speedy DE's and big LB's. You gotta do something different, switch to a 4-3 for all I care, but the run is killling us. I think #1 problem with our defense is THE COACHING!

OFFENSE
Jenkins, you seem to be a good guy, had success in the past, but right now to me YOU ARE A BONEHEAD! If you really really think with our FABOULOUS QB's we are gonna succeed without a running game. Youare DEAD wwrong. When it's 2nd and 1 early in tha game and your up by 3(i think) YOU RUN THE BALL! Don't pass it and settle for a FG, we had such good field position in that first half we should have been winning 24-0. Just ######ed....When it's 2nd and inches again and your up by a few, RUN THE BALL, don't pass you moron. I don't want to be stuck in a 3rd and inches, no matter how good our chances are of getting it, no need to put yourself in that situation of do or die. Now the biggest piss off, I think everyone will agree with me on this......WHEN YOUR UP BY 2 POINTS WITH THE BALL AND THERE IS 50 SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK. YOU RUN THE GOD DAMN BALL! I don't care if it's with Jones, Diebert, REgimbald, Fleming, Young, Boese, Coe, Grace, hell even Hebert. You run the ball, kill the clock....look guys we won. This offensive co-ordinater has got to go, he is running this team into the ground. Tommy Jones looked good at times, I think he played well given the circumstances. I can't see it being easy walking into a pass happy offense in your first start. his throws are a little high, which is a problem he can work on over the week. But given it's his first start and there's no running game to take the pressure off of him he played rather well. Some bad decsions on those turnovers true, but good none the less.

Just an example of what a running game seems to do. Darnell Kennedy is 1-2 with 4 yeards I beleive. Ranek starts running a muck and out defense starts to RESPECT the run. Then Darnell explodes for those 3 touchdowns. Do we not see a trend here.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Hebert.....I love this guy, he can punt, he can kick field goals. I mean a 70 yard punt, that was outstanding. This guy is solid, I hope we don't trade him for O'Mahoney or something like that. Our coverage team on punts, GIVE HIM HIS YARDS WHEN WE CAN GET THAT EXTRA POINT AND "seal" THE GAME! Don't pull stupid ish like that. Wayne didn't really get a chance to run crazy out there so I won't go off on him.

Such a bad game, waste of my time, undicipined. Stupid penalties everywhere, Matt either get a hold of your team, FIRE your offensive co-ordinater, get your defensive co-ordinater to NO BE BLITZ HAPPY. And please please please run the ball.

Can anyone tell I'm angry?!

I am not spending a single cent on the Stamps until Jenkins is fired. The stubborness not to run the ball even when the win is on the line is pathetic. The clock should have been down to 20 seconds, Hebert puts it deep or in the end zone (restoring a 3 point lead), and Ottawa has about 15 seconds to drive 50+ yards. But what do I know? Obviously we should be trying to get more points.

Brian Clark needs to be benched as well for his idiocy in the last drive. Ottawa's entire offense tonight was a dump off to Ranek. So what does Clark do when he's covering Ranek in the last minute? Why charge the QB of course. Do these guys have no awareness whatsoever?

Terrance Moore had better be on the bench next game. But how many times can the DC line him up against Bendross in the red line only to get burnt? Ottawa's most dangerous target in the endzone and we throw our back-up on him. Great coaching.

Jenkins just cost us the season - that's reason enough to fire that loser.

Tonight's loss was brutal, and painful to watch. Tommy Jones... well he's a bit better than Crandall, but good grief, that game was a joke. And to think these guys call themselves professionals.

Amateurs masquerading as professionals... WTF?

I was impressed with Hebert though -- he made the 32-yarders look automatic, when O'Mahoney would have shanked at least 2 of them wide. I should add that I quit watching with 3 minutes to go when it was "in the bag," so I don't know how he did in those last 3 mins.

Wow - saw Joe Sports on Global Sports just now - he was p*ssED off. He demanded that Jenkins be fired by Dunnigan immediately, and if not, Dunnigan forced to resign.

...and so it begins

Man that hurts! A bad team always finds ways to lose! This team needs an enema! My gut is still swirrling! Firing the coach wasn't the answer to this team. Quarterbacks were a problem last year I thought having an all star qb coaching and being the GM ol' Matt would know what to do. Obviously I was wrong! I hope somehow this team can get back on it's feet.

I just need to vent.

3rd and 27 and you Blitz? Brutal play call and the DB (#3 Moore I think) got burnt bad on that play.

Nice punt but they came out ahead even though Ottawa screwed up on the penalty. Lucky.

My 6 year old nephew can throw a tighter spiral and more accurate ball then Jones. My Lord!!!

This team is undisciplined, unskilled and down right brutal to watch.

Yikes.

I missed the game last night....I'm sorta glad I did. Sounds like it would have been a ginormous waste of 3 hours.

I saw some highlights.....brutal...just brutal.

Jenkins must be fired!!!! I agree there.

Jones was able to do what Crandell could not do that was have consitent drives.
He actually moved the ball alot. That was good to see. He had some bad throws no doubt and he better learn how to hold onto the football but overall It was not bad for your first every Pro start.

Terrence moore should be Cut not benched Cut. they guy was burtal. I wish Omar Evens was here. that would sure help the Secondary out alot.

Calgarys last play of the game the Fumble shows everyone the biggest single problem the Stamps have. Jenkins and his idiotic need to not run the freaken football. Go back to California you loser. Wonder if Barker would come back as the Offensive Coordinator??

At the beginning of the second half, my girlfriend asked me if I thought the Stamps were going to win. I said they'd lose in the last minute because of their inability or refusal to run the ball. Keep the ball on the ground, don't even worry about trying to get a first down, given the way Heibert was booting them. Absolutely bone-headed. Speaking of bone-headed, how many stupid penalties did that #3 guy (Terry Moore, I think?) get? He had about 20 yards in penalties on back-to-back drives in the second half, and also dropped what should have been a sure interception. And we sat our running back so that this guy could play? I really have serious doubts about this entire coaching staff.

Jones seems to do a better job reading the offense than Crandell, and he gets rid of the ball in a hurry, which is good. But the way he floats the ball up there with that side-arm, any time he throws into coverage it becomes a jump-ball--it's a good thing he was finding the wide-open guy most of the time. He actually reminds me of McManus a bit with the quick drop and fire. And like McManus, a low sack total, high interception total.

Heibert was the best player on the team tonight, as consistent as you could ask for, and nailing that long punt into the endzone just one play after getting roughed up (though the stupid, stupid punt coverage team almost ruined that one. How do these guys not know that the best play is to give the guy lots of room to catch the ball, and then make sure that he doesn't get out of the endzone? Again, I have to really question the level of preperation and coaching.)
