Nah, and if he was really worried about it just call the Flames ticket office for some advice and to give them a heads up. She didn't fulfill her end of the bargain and he is still able to communicate with her (obviously because of her threats). Nothing to worry about.

Your right let's just brush it off...no worries...the fact that i have experience in this situation thanks to a dear friend who is an account manager for an NHL Team and routinely likes to tell me how stupid people are and their schemes with hockey tickets.

flameswin...you choice on what you want to do, i am saying it isn't worth the risk to call them in stolen and get a reprint and sell them, if you get busted you may lose your tickets.

I'm supprised no one here (including myself) has even mentioned calling the cops and asking them what you should do.

If she's actually threatened violence she's in some serious trouble.
Give the non emergency line a call and see what they think about it.

ok this will be a lil hard to follow but bear with me... My wife dances for a show in branson missouri and i sell timeshares....

well i met a guy in the buisness (call him kev) and we became good friends. everyone warned me to be careful about the guy because he was shady and would sell me out , even my dad told me this after meeting the guy once. Well during the year our relationship grew and we hung out alot. My wife who was dancing at the employees show had became good friends with her boss which just so happened to be employers daughter ( we will call her kris) Well kris was married and her marriage was on the rocks bc she cheated, kris and her hubby were trying to work it out but hubby wouldnt be physical with her bc he didnt think she would stay loyal. Well the hubby and i are friends as well and when she booted him out again i offered a temporary place to stay. This is about christmas time and kev is telling me he wants to hook up with kris bc she is a local celebrity and quite hott.

I tell kev " she is married, you have been married before and your wife cheated, so dont be that guy because you know how it feels"

Kev doesnt listen, i leave to come to calgary for christmas and when i come back kev and kris are dating. The problem is kev is also sleeping with one of our fellow co-workers ( call her Kan). I hate cheaters so i try to fill kris in about when she isnt in town kev is sleeping with kan. Well kris freaks out and says me and kan are lying about kev. Kev convinces a girl to call while he is with kris and pretend to be kan and say that i am lying about everything.

Anyhow this causes friction between my wife and kris ( her boss) and it alienates everyone in the show from my wife because they think we are liars, not to mention the lies kev is telling about me at my work. Every trangression he has done that i have been there to witness His cheating, drugs, arrests he has made them out like they happened to me and making me look like a complete buffoon... not that i care but when it makes you an outcast amongst all your friends and coworkers its tough. the worst was when he was telling people i cheated on my wife all the time, which is completely untrue..Anyhow this happens about 4 1/2 weeks ago.

SO the karma comes along in the form of yesterday Kan calls me and says she is 4-5 weeks pregnant with Kev's kid
hahahaha sorry i had to tell someone , because i have been sworn to secrecy so i figured id tell cp .. cause im feeling pretty amused at the situation now

Holy crap, not an account manager for an NHL team... what was I thinking stating my opinion on the matter when you have friends in such high places!!

Anyway, as a fellow season ticket holder, I'd be interested to find out what the Flames Admin had to say about this when you indeed do find out Flameswin. But sorry to derail your thread a bit here.

More Karma stories!!

Yes am telling you that your opinion of "nothing to worry about" is wrong. There is a possibilty that he could lose his season tickets, i would rather give him my educated opinion, as oppose to just brushing it off and stating that nothing is going to happen like you.

Thanks for all the advice guys, especially Melbridgmen. I guess the moral of the story is, like one poster said, always sell tickets to friends or through more trusted ways, aka calgarypuck. I usually sell them through Calgarypuck, and have had nothing but good experiences. It was my buddy who said if you sell them on Craigslist, you'll get dozens of e-mails about tickets for any Flames game, and he was right. However, my first e-mail happened to be from the bitch of the century.

As for what do now that I have this problem, I'll guess I'm going to have to do some serious thinking, as to not get in any trouble here. My Flames season tickets are way more valuable to me then getting back at some idiot.

As far as the threat of physical violence goes, I'm really not worried about that at all. I'm not going to do something stupid, like say "yeah sure, I'd love to meet up with your boyfriend". If there was ANY chance that I might have to encounter any violence, I would organize some cop friends of mine to join me undercover, but I likely will avoid any further face to face meetings with this lady, and do something that satisfies me, without risking my season tickets.

Being as they're seasons, don't they have your name on them? Sounds to me like you're on the verge of messing with some shady characters. Anybody who would pull a stunt like that is probably the same type of person that will go out of their way to make your life miserable.
Call me paranoid, but in situations like this, I usually find myself backing down. All these jokers need to do is find out where you live (which is fairly easy in this electronic age) and then egg your house or throw a rock through your window.
Ain't worth it, IMO. If I was in your situation, I'd just collect the other $200 and rest assured that one day, she'll get what she deserves.

Is it even legal to re-sell tickets at a higher price than their marked value?

Good points for sure. It's funny, i made this thread to point out a really funny Karma story, but the responses may in fact save me from some serious possible problems of my own.

I definitly don't want to be the victim of a drive by shooting/molatov cocktail, that you here about in the NE all the tim......... oh wait, not the NE, it happens EVERYWHERE!!!!!! (Sorry, just had to through that in there, in reference to that other thread where I got ridiculed for saying the NE and SW are like two different cities.)

Were they?

I personally don't have a moral problem with it (unless the only reason why people buy them is to re-sell them at a higher price). If you're a season ticket holder and you can't make it to some games, then by all means, sell for whatever you can get.

I just wouldn't want to see you get into trouble if this thing escalates to where the police or Flames get involved...

If you weren't scalping them for higher than face value, then call the Flames ticket office or the cops.

Two guys I went to school with bought season tickets after the run of '04 with sole intention of selling EVERY ticket for profit. They admitted that they hate hockey, and that it was purely a business venture.

Myself, I sold half my tickets this year for UNDER face value on Calgarypuck, so I definitly don't have my season tickets for the wrong reasons. The fact that my season ticket partner is going to school in Sask. this year was the main reason for me not attending as many games as in the past.

A friend of mine is a cop, so I'm going to talk to him first about my options, and after that I'll call the Flames ticket office and see what they have to say.

I'd be interested to hear their Karmic Retribution story.

Another angle is that I'll be at the game, just two sections over. So I could wait at the entrane to section 218, and when she walks up... BAM! I punch her in the face.

But on a more serious note, if I decide to calm my measures down a bit to ensure the safety of my season tickets, i could at least mention to her that I have seats to that game with a buddy of mine in the same section.
