James was on. To Eliza, "Oh so you're sick and have attitude!" Then he just chuckles.

He just had to win one immunity challenge. With his physique, that should be no problem

At the very least he should have made it known that he was going to play the idol. That would at least make everyone think twice about voting for him.

I think she made the right choice - she has a far greater chance making the final three with the group she chose. If it came down to those final 5, it would be extremely easy to either:
1. get the girls to vote out the powerful guys - you may think it's crap but the girls will NOT win $1,000,00 against Ozzie or James
2. get one of the couples to turn against the other couple - why wait until final four when the numbers are tied to make a move?

do you think Cirie being towed through the game would have any shot at beating any of those 4 though? I don't think she'd even get a vote. Cirie will NOT win the 1,000,000$ against of the guys or girls in the alliance she chose.
Versus if she were to make the final 3 with any of Jonathan, Ami and Eliza she would probably atleast have a shot. Granted she'd have to get rid of Yau somewhere along the way.

I haven't been part of the discussion yet, but here are some things I've been thinking about:
- I thought Cirie was actually funny and smart in her original season. I think her appeal is that she was so useless and out of her element, but she adapted marginally well. Her decision however to go with her current alliance is right up there with the most braindead plays ever.
- I laughed pretty hard when James managed to figure out the magic word for the puzzle (triumphant) . . . and then proceeded to ask if that was a word.
- Penner doesn't annoy me as much as I thought he would. He's a huge whiner but such a poor player that he just won't be around long enough to bother with.
- To me Joel needs to be among survivors stupidest. Who has ever formed an alliance and then used the first two councils to vote out members from it? He got totally played by the old "are you going to let him control you like that?" trick! That's the oldest one in the book!
Really enjoying this year so far.

ARGGHGH!!! I've never wanted to lose a pool before but, man, that Chet is the most awful contestant ever on this show. He is weak, unwilling, and has no personality whatsoever. He never campaigns to save his own skin, relying on everyone else to plot to keep him in the game. Every second of screen time he gets makes me angry.
On another note, though, Joel's stupid vote last week sure came back to bite him in the ass

HOW IS CHET STILL IN THIS GAME!?!?!
Morons.
Highlight of this week.
Chet: "I smashed my head back there"
Joel: "I don't care."
Chet: "I know."
Classic.

Cirie is freekin annoying.
How Chet is still in this game is beyond me
I liked Joel, he would have been sweet to watch go down to the final 5-6.

I knew Cirie would go farther than some of you may have thought. She knows how to play the game and even though she is lazy and doesn't help in challenges, she always somehow manages to turn the tide against somebody else.
That's how she played last time too.

I don't think anyone here expected Cirie to be voted out at this juncture. It's the blantant stupidity of her decisions though which boggles my mind I don't think she has any idea how to play the game at all.
Her first decision to side with the strong 4 basically ensured that if they stuck together she would have no chance in hell of winning, even if she made it to the final 3. She could have busted up that group of 4 by voting off Parvati yet still retained a very strong tribe and neutralized the strength of the big players in that tribe.
Last night, shes already got the weaker tribe with possibly 4 of the weakest 5 left in the game. So what shall we do, lets vote off one of our stronger players! I wasn't a big Joel fan, he seemed about as smart as Cirie but they have pretty much guarenteed that they are going to get smoked in any challenge which has a strong physical aspect, which this year seems to be most of them.
I liked their justification too, big guy couldn't hit a small plate with a small rock, obviously he's not as useful physically in the challenges. Further more by getting rid of Chet, the favourites would have still commanded the numerical advantage putting Joel in a compromised position and Cirie could have used that to her advantage to get rid of the other fan tribe members.
Cirie is a trainwreck.

I applaud Cirie for her getting Joel punted last night - for two reasons. She knew if Chet was gone she was next. She still has Chet as a buffer now. Not great for the tribe, but great for her. Secondly, as much as I know Chet does not deserve to be there, he did not deserve to be drug and bashed through the bush like he was last night. In fact, that challenge was poor judgement all around on the producer's part by the look of the injury count. Joel was not a team player, and may have even cost the immunity challenge because he wouldn't shut up during the puzzle. (maybe) I think the tribe will be just fine on Ozzie's shoulders.
Cirie's move got her through to the merger IMO.
Oh and that old chick... what a proud pair ... and Amy seems to take a liking to her next week.

Yep, really stupid on their part. Jonathon looks to have been seriously messed up next week from his injury.

Yup, lousy way to be removed if it comes to that. They should provide him with an IV antibiotic at night IMO. It isn't his fault. He sure does get under Jeff's skin doesn't he though? Is there a history between the two I have forgotten?

They've ramped up the phsyicality of the challenges over the last few seasons. Which I don't mind. It's survivor - by the end of it you should be a total wreck. Risk of injury is part of the game.

I don't understand why it wouldn't have been standard treatment to give him even oral antibiotics, seeing as they had to stitch it up and who knows what got in there before they did? Would something as small as that disqualify him or something? You don't take a chance with a wound like that especially if you don't know the source.

Point taken. However, that puncture wound could have just as easily have been Chet's eye instead of Jonathan's leg. I don't mind the physicality either, in fact, I loved the brawl in the mud with the sacks. That was awesome when James turned the tide. This challenge was still poorly thought out IMO.
The game also loses intrigue if people are dropping out from injury as opposed to being stabbed in the back.
