Virgin Mobile Canada

Looks like they've set up shop here - good thing if you hate Bell, Telus, Rogers, etc.

Appears that they're doing what Fido did originally where you pay by the minute, and don't have any sort of plan whatsoever.

Maybe it'll start some sort of service war with the other companies (alas, I'm a dreamer)

They only offer pay&talk not monthly rate plans.

Branson is partnering with Bell to target the young prepaid demographic, Virgin Mobile in Britain is GSM but they're doing CDMA here using Bell's networks. Two thumbs down if you ask me. Yes they are all prepaid and there's no monthly plans. And the phone selection is horrible.

Agreed. When is Canada going to catch up with the rest of world and get rid of CDMA? GSM is the way to go. I can't wait till my contract is over with Telus. I am tired of crappy phones after 11 years with them.
