Plaxico predicts a Giants win 23-16....interesting move to say such a thing considering how the other teams faired when a player poker "the bear".

Cool. 6 buddies and I rented a van and drove down to Super Bowl XXX (the last time it was in Arizona). One of the greatest trips ever. We didn't actually get inside the stadium (I was a student at the time and coudn't afford it) but it was still a great experience.

We finally got cable again this week. It's been a little over a month with bunny ears but we should be all set for SB XLII in HD.

Whats your idea of destroy? Three Super Bowls by a combined 9 points?

Not to mention they were a John Kasay kickoff inbounds away from probably losing to Carolina. I still don't understand how people don't think that's one of the biggest gaffes in Super Bowl history.

Officials announced for the game.

Mike Carey is the head ref. I like Carey when he's not reffing Cowboys games.

Here's the thing, you call your shot and make it and you'll go down in history (Mark Messier).

you miss it, and you're a fool for what? one, maybe two weeks. The giants are expected to lose, Burress isn't going to get picked on the way that DB in Steeltown did (see I don't even remember his name).

Anthony Smith...and I didn't even have to look that up. How about Roy Williams guarantee to beat the Bears last year? Or Jon Kitna's 10 wins guarantee this year?

...God the Lions are awful.

Mark Messier? This is an NFL thread. The only acceptable comparison is Joe Namath before Super Bowl III. "We'll win the game. I guarantee you."

I guess my point was, yes Hasselbeck said "give us the ball we're going to score" and people bug him about it, but it's not like he wears the goat, it doesn't define his career. but if they had scored he'd be a legend.

Ahh, the one where Neil ODonnell was the true MVP ... for Dallas.

Good area there around ASU for a party. With glendale being out in the sticks the events are scattered all over the valley.

I've been debating whether to take the Giants and the 11.5 point spread. I think the Giants should cover. But I can also take an alternate spread of either 7.5 or 5.5 points. Payout is greater on the lower spread, but I think I'll stick to the 11.5 line.

Usually I hate when players make brash predictions like Plax did. I knew it was gonna be ugly when Anthony Smith did it with the Steelers earlier in the year. But for some reason Plax's comments dont bother me. Certain teams can rally around comments such as these, and the Giants have enough brash players that they seem like the type of team who could. Not to mention that, unlike Smith, Plax is on offence. And its alot harder for the opposing team to rub it in the #1 WR's face then it is to a guy in the secondary. I see Plax backing up his words and having a good game(though I still see the Pats winning a somewhat tight one).

I'm taking the Giants to win. Why not? The game is allways a lot more fun to watch when you got money riding on it.

I've got $50 on the Giants to beat a 7.5 spread, $100 on them to beat a 12.5 spread, and $50 on the Pats straight up (that one's with a buddy). All in all I could walk away with a $220 payout this weekend.

I will probably just bet $100 straight up. I'm also tempted by taking the Giants to score a TD first for $100.
