Default Ryan Seacrest...what is his appeal?

How is this guy on TV? He hosts two primetime shows and is now hosting the Super Bowl pregame show. He is just awful. He looks like Lance Bass' gay cousin...Lance Bass. Do people actually like this guy?

I find it enormously ironic that the gayest guy on TV is hosting the Superbowl pregame show.

Agreed. If there was a way to convinve diehard NFL fans to not watch the Super Bowl pregame show, Fox has found it.

The second he mentions "tight-ends" the entire straight population of the United States of America will collectively projectile vomit.

The double-entendres could go on for days.

I think the idea behind the superbowl thing is that guys are going to watch no matter who the host is. They want more women to get into the superbowl and football in general, so you hire some metrosexual dude to host the thing. Now all the women that watch American Idol will want to watch the superbowl, not only for the commercials, but to see this numpty. In turn exposing them to more football in hopes of creating more fans.

That's just my guess anyway.

Wow Fox is really stupid. I originally didn't believe that they would really have Seacrest hosting the pregame show so I checked and it gets worse. Apparently they are trying to incorporate American Idol into the pregame show.

Monday, Fox announces its Super Bowl pregame show will debut Idol judge Paula Abdul's Dance Like There's No Tomorrow music video, and she might also perform the song live.

What a brilliant idea

I bet his idea of a half-time show is letting every player line up to 'tackle' him.

There you go. Pretty clear to me they are trying to get more women to watch.

Yeah, being talked about in the Superbowl thread. There will be a couple of performers in the SB. Abdul and Petty to name a few.

And this is what I hate about the Superbowl...and why I will not be tuning in (besides the fact that I don't care for football). The game seems to be secondary to the half time show, ads, fireworks, pre-game festivities. It is commercialism on steroids. All this crap taks away from the sport, in my eyes. God forbid the NHL ever gets popular in the USA.

What????? Seriously what is going on with the NFL this year, its really letting me down. First, reporters are all over the absolutely ridiculous "Yoko Romo" Jessica Simpson story, as if her presence and their trip to Mexico somehow resulted in the Cowboys losing. And now Seacrest is doing the pre-game show?? Honestly at this rate you could start watching NFL coverage on Star TV.
