				 Asking Out A Coworker

So, another one of those threads is about to be created here by just asking for advice regarding asking out a coworker. I'm not even sure if the advice will be taken, but regardless, it's a real pickle just simply because, we're both in a professional enviornment, and if anything goes bad, well, it can go sour. That's the main problem. Whether or not she has interest is another "problem".
Anyway, so I'm basically asking, has anyone ever done this, and how do you avoid the office chatter and odd work environment if things go south (not there )?

Ive had mixed results.. Just don't act coupley at work or it wont last.. People always talk so its better to keep it under the radar.. Its also tough after the break-up if you work closely together.. I usually wait for the girl to make some moves or drop hints before I roll the rejection dice with a co-worker..

Invite a few select people from the office to the pub, and tell her you're all going out and she can come if she wants. Then, when at the pub, make sure you sit together and chat her up.
 Or...

Get ridiculously drunk and see what happens.

Oh yeah, someone might suggest hookers and blow to break the ice.

This thread is useless without pics
When it comes to this topic, the only thing that I can respond is: Is the risk worth the reward?

i'm married to a former co-worker. it's not a big deal but depending on what happens can become VERY awkward. people are going to talk no matter what, if you can't deal with it then avoid the relationship. don't do anything stupid.

Just tell her she's really hot and you'd like to jackhammer her. Feed her the ol' salami, put some dressing in her bowl if you will. Tell her it'll only take a second you just need to reach around your leg and untie your hog. She'll be so impressed with you, this is foolproof.

All good advice so far (hookers and blow especially), but I've done this one (above) and the funny thing is, she's pretty professional, and she won't really come out unless a group of people come out. I think she's just too conscious of just a couple people going out (or it could be my looks ). But regardless, I give her rides from work sometimes locally, and do you guys think popping the question of asking her out one day will be a negative thing (by kinda catching her by surprise)?

I once spent weeks trying to pull the perfect strategy together to ask out a co-worker, only to find out during the asking out part that she's a lesbian. She always talked about some girlfriend before, I guess I just never figured that it was THAT type of girlfriend. Yeah, I'm pretty perceptive.
Funny thing is, she didnt really say no...

I've dated co-workers before. It can get really nasty internally if things don't work out, depending on the type of company you work for. Tread very carefully.
